Apartments for rent in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Temporary rentals. Luxury apartments. Vacation rentals · Poetry Building Recoleta
Jane, Melbourne, Australia/ July 2011We bookended our South American trip with a stay at the Poetry Building and after four weeks in Brazil, returning to the Poetry Building was like coming home!
We endorse all the good things that have already been said - will be recommending this property to everyone travelling to BA.
We particulary loved:
* the 'information package' we received on arrival which included favourite restaurants - we worked our way through quite a few on the list and loved them all!
* well equipped kitchen with supermarket just around the corner made cooking the occasional meal very easy
* the location - within walking distance of everything. (Taxis are abundant if wet or short of time and the subway is a short walk and easy to use. The bus system is not so easy to work out but an adventure if you have the time!)
* the beds - heavenly and hard to get out of!
Thanks to Brent, Jimena and the team for helping make our stay in BA so memorable!
Look no further, book now!
I honestly can't speak highly enough of our stay at the Poetry Building. I guess the fact that we already booked our second trip speaks volumes. Without a doubt, Brent and his team have set a new and very high standard for apartment rentals in Buenos Aires. This building has been beautifully renovated; the suites are elegant, comfortable and quiet and in a perfect location for exploring BAs. Each suite is unique and even nicer than it appears on the website. If you are looking for a high standard self-catering apartment with plenty of space, the Poetry Building offers exceptional value. The decor is funky, the furnishings top quality, the beds exceptionally comfortable, the kitchens generously stocked with necessities and the indoor and outdoor areas kept clean and well-maintained. Having the small rooftop plunge pool is a real bonus: it's a lovely spot to sit and relax after a day of urban hiking.
Since we started spending our Februarys in Buenos Aires six years ago, we have booked apartments through several different rental companies companies. Some are better than others but we've consistently had difficulty tracking down off-site management to quickly resolve problems. Brent, and his assistant Jimena, run a very professional operation. As they are based in the building, they are available to answer questions, solve any problems and they go the extra mile to ensure their guests have a perfect vacation.
We have stayed at several apartments in Poetry. We love the people who work in the office - they are always helpful with booking supper reservations and booking cars. We have stayed here 4 times now - and have stayed in 3 different apartments. They all have something special. All have both modern features (such as ipod music, tv, iron, small kitchen) and some unique structural or design details. It is the perfect location for exploring the city and for feeling like you live there. We have stayed at other apartments and have had to wait hours for keys etc. Never here. Personally we enjoy Recoletta more than Palermo and enjoy the quaintness of Poetry over other places, such as 4 Seasons that we have stayed at in BA. For the money, you cannot do better!
Vit, Toronto, Canada/ June 2011As a travel who prefers a degree of self-sufficiency not afforded by most conventional hotel rooms, Poetry was perfect for my needs. I stayed for a week in a studio a fully-equipped kitchen with quality appliances, a comfortable bed and a lovely terrace where I often ate a lunch of empanadas purchased from an excellent bakery three doors away. The location is excellent, near to the major shopping street Santa Fe and within walking distance of the famous cemetery, the major art galleries, Teatro Colon and even Plaza de Mayo and San Telmo, if the weather is nice and you have the ambition for it. Plenty of great places to eat, at all price points, within walking distance too. The staff is gracious, knowledgeable and helpful. First rate in every sense.
Emilia, New York, USA/ April 2011What a well suited name for this truly beautiful place... Not only the staff is extraordinarily warm, friendly, and always ready and eager to help with anything from advice, suggestions to any requests, but the apartments are furnished and decorated with so much taste, style and charm, the amenities offer everything that you might need on your trip (even an iPod to use while there for example with the best music selection or a book to pick up reading if you find the time, and what great choices!), and last but not least, this place just has a beautiful atmosphere and it's truly special and unique. I felt so at home right away, a new and indulgent home, offering a sense of security, coziness and luxury. The location just couldn't be better - the surrounding area has incredible places for eating out whether it's a late morning breakfast, a quick (if there is such a thing in Buenos Aires) lunch, a coffee and dessert afternoon stop or a great dinner. Bakeries, grocery stores, ice cream shops (if you plan on watching what you eat, just don't go there, it's impossible), bank machines, a liquor store... all within a couple of blocks reach. If you are planning on indulging in the best that BsAs has to offer, this is the place. I feel so fortunate to have found it and met Jimena, Janina, Brent, Pablo and Angel. Thank you all for a magical visit... I can't wait to come back and see you all later this year!
Joshua, Atlanta, USA / March 2011My brother and I stayed at the Poetry Building for a week in March 2011. The apartment was spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed. I was impressed by many of the little touches. The building staff was terrific in helping us with anything we needed, from directions to recommendations to arranging transportation. The building is both beautiful and comfortable. It was a great place to relax and a great base to explore. The neighborhood is fantastic in its own right (including a great bakery several doors down) and is an easy walk to many sights. It's a great value that is extremely well run and deserves an excellent rating.
Kim, Salt Lake City, USA/ February 2011We stayed in two apartments in the historic Poetry Building. Each apartment had high ceilings and french doors opening on to little balconies. The apartments were newly-designed using modern elements such as loft space or glass partitions. The furnishings were a blend of antique and modern -- gracious old chandeliers, armoires, and mirrors, with modern accent furniture and contemporary artwork. The kitchens and bathrooms were beautiful and functional. The tv, dvd player, iPod, and cell phone all worked well. We spent time at the pool on the roof drinking coffee in the morning, sitting in the sun in the afternoon, and taking a dip in the evening. The staff is very generous with their knowledge, and helped us in ways we couldn't have imagined beforehand. The location is lovely with fruit stands, cafes, a grocery store, banks, and retail shopping within 3 blocks. We will absolutely stay there again if we travel to Buenos Aires.
Michael, Florida, USA / January 2011From the moment I made the reservations I just knew the Poetry Building would be a winner and there was no disappointment when we checked in. We were greeted by Jimena who for the next 11 days was our eyes on the city ready with the map to show us where we needed to go , to make reservations for restaurants, arrange for transportation to and from the airport, and explain when we needed clarification. Our apartment was just as it was photographed and suited my partner and I perfectly. There was everything one needed to be completely comfortable and we were. The location could not have been better. Just a couple doors away was a great bakery, a couple of blocks away was a large grocery store fully stocked, and wonderful restaurants within 5 to 7 blocks serving everything from pizza, seafood, beef, and all good. Brent and his staff should be roundly thanked for creating such a wonderful place to enjoy such a great city. Once again thanks so very much.
Miami, Florida, USA/ January 2011For our second visit to Buenos Aires we choose the Poetry Building based on the reviews on Tripadvisor and the hotel's beautiful and informative website. We were not disappointed upon arrival ... WOW! The apartments are exquisite, even better than the photos, and the beautifully restored building is gorgeous as well. Everything is new and of the highest quality. From our initial reservation request until our departure the service was outstanding. The location could not be better with excellent stores and cafes literally just steps away. We often walked home from clubs and restaurants past 5:00 am feeling utterly safe. This upscale neighborhood is definetely the way to enjoy Buenos Aires like a porteno! Thank you so much Jimena, Brent and Angel for truly making us feel "Como en su casa" Gracias!
Sara, Beverly Hills, USA/ December 2010I can't begin to tell you how wonderful our stay was in Buenos Aires. I truly feel we owe so much to Brent for helping us organize our stay, and mostly -for such a fabulous apartment. Your pictures and descriptions do not do it justice!
We felt safe and hip by staying in what we found to be the best neighborhood in BA. So many restaurants, shops, friendly neighbors, etc. FYI: The bakery down the street was the best I have EVER been too (delicious and cheap) and I have been to many in Paris, nothing compares.
Having the cleaners across the street, the bars/pubs near by, the grocery store around the block... how can you beat it?
Staying (living) in Poetry was the experience I was looking for: safe, fun, clean, hip, great location, HONEST OWNERS, English speaking Televison, rooftop pool, all the amenities you could want (for example, a local cell phone during your visit- INCLUDED),.... I am overwhelmed by the owners desire to make our stay perfect, which i was by 10 fold.
I never feel compelled to write reviews, but this time I must! My BA experience made me realize life again, and I wouldn't change a bit.... I can't wait to come back, tell all my friends and family, and potentially move there. I was sad to leave.
One other thing I would like to point out....when you are planning a trip from abroad, you must feel safe in who you are dealing with, with Brent... we did. He was quick to respond, always available, and made the whole "booking long distance" a very easy and simple transaction. I never felt I had to worry.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU.
The Poetry Building was phenomenal! The building was just recently renovated and the owner did a fantastic job of restoring the historic charm and at the same time updating it with a flare of modern beauty! There is no question that I would stay at the Poetry Building again! The location was great in historic Recoleta and safe. Staff was very friendly and willing to help. This place is a must stay for the price!!!
Marcos, Madrid, Spain / November, 2010I spend my life traveling, visiting gorgeous hotels and wonderful countries, so I may say I am very picky when selecting a place to stay. After spending loooong time looking in the internet for a place to stay in Buenos Aires, I discovered this lovely building that did not seem to have a lot of advertising. Their website already gave me a good idea about the place and Tripadvisor helped me to think seriously about booking a room. The location was exactly where I wanted to be (in Recoleta), so... I went ahead and called to make a booking. I was taken care by Jimena, a very professional, friendly and smiling person!
When I arrived... I was totally "WOWED"!! I wasn't expecting such a nice place, great design and very clean! There is a mobile provided for your stay in Buenos Aires (you just need to top up the card across the street) and even an iPod dock with a pre-loaded iPod!! The bathroom was very clean, water very hot (temperature and pressure constant). There was an adorable terrace for having breakfast and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a small swimming pool on the 4th floor. And the bed... the bed... SUPER comfortable! The selection of TV channels is great and there is even a DVD player!
I really loved Poetry building and I can only recommend you to stay there! So... don't hesitate!
My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at this apartment- a spacious (700-800 sq ft) and fully furnished brick wall-facaded design with living room, kitchen and two bedroom areas, one of them a loft (with flat-screen TV) which partially overlooked the areas below. Our queen-sized mattress was firm and comfortable and the kitchen appliances were modern and conveniently arranged. Our 2nd floor quarters allowed easy access by elevator to main floor offices and exits, and to other apartment facilities, including an outdoor minipool and sunbathing area on the 4th floor (of 6 floors). A "supermarket" and internet - telephone outlet were located nearby, as were other tourist sites (e.g. cemetary with Eva Peron's crypt ). Taxi's were ubiquitous and easily hailed for more distant destinations. Apartment staff spoke English fluently, were courteous and very helpful with respect to site-seeing, shopping and other matters of interest. All this for a very reasonable price. In a nutshell, a wonderful bargain and experience...
Thomas and Natalie, London, UK / October, 2010Poetry in motion!! Made us hate hotels!!!
Donna and George, Canada / October, 2010Loved it all!!!
John and Joan, Texas, US / October, 2010Our little piece of the city- home away from home. Can´t imagine staying in BA any other way. Lovely.
Catherine and Randy, Toronto, Canada / October, 2010Brent & Staff at the Poetry Building,
Thank you for making our stay in BA so wonderful. This was an amazing home away from home! We appreciate all of your help arranging day trips and dinner arrangements and everything else you did to make our stay great. Warmest thanks!
Everything was laid out in the information paper give to me at arrival, from everything that one would need in the local neighborhood, to restaurants and night life. Very well thought out. Wireless internet in the room. Cell phone with local number. There was nothing left to imagine. Job well done! I am in the Travel Business and will recommend Poetry to all of my clients and friends.
Ollie, Sydney, Australia / October, 2010We recently had nine nights at the Poetry during our first trip to Buenos Aires and were completely happy with our choice.
First, the location is perfect - cafes, restaurants, shopping on Santa Fe. Walk to the Cemetery, to the wonderful MALBA, the two fabulous National Museums. We also walked to Palermo Soho in one direction, and to San Telmo in the other, and to Puerto Madero - but we do like to walk!
Next, the apartments - they are exactly as shown on the website - stylish, interesting, clean, good quality white sheets and towels, well fitted kitchens, great spaces inside and out. We had 6 nights in 4A and 3 in 5B.
And the staff? Perfect! Friendly helpful advice by email from Jimena before we arrived, charming reception from Pablo on our arrival (despite our lack of language skills), and friendly, helpful advice from Jimena and Brent during office hours.
Would we stay again - absolutely!
I was treated well from the time of booking until I was returned to the airport at the end of my stay. The staff made every effort to ensure my three weeks in Buenos Aires was comfortable, safe, and fully enjoyable. The building is situated smack in the middle of the bustling centre, but tucked away on a quiet side street. I was able to walk or take transit to many of the sites and locations where many visitors would spend time. The bakery, tea shops and resetaurants are all within walking distance and are full of charm. The grocery store is on the next block for those planning to stock up the fridge. I can't wait to return, and I recommend it to all of my colleagues, friends and family.
Mandarina,_studio, Massachusetts, US / August, 2010We stayed at the Poetry for 12 nights in July/August 2010 and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. This was our first trip to Buenos Aires and we found the property to be perfectly located - situated between Recoleta & Barrio Norte; an elegant neighborhood that is convenient and centrally located, a 10 minute walk to the Recoleta Cemetery. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby, an excellent bakery a few doors down (see more info and pictures on my blog link below).
As an interior designer, I am extremely particular about the architecture, design and furnishings of a space and chose the Poetry based on the beautiful photos shown on their website. Thankfully, the photos accurately represent the property and I loved the design - contemporary mixed with some antique pieces. We wanted to stay in a larger duplex but one was not available for our entire stay so we stayed in Studio 1D for the first 3 nights and then moved to Duplex 2C for the remaining 9 nights. Both were lovely, comfortable and provided a good amount of space for a couple. The studio had an outdoor space with a dining table/seating for 4 which we would have used if the weather had been warmer. The duplex was much bigger with soaring ceilings and bedroom upstairs but did not have an outdoor space - this didn't matter for our stay since the winter weather was a bit chilly - we were happy to have the bigger space.
The owner, Brent, is very nice and will gladly make recommendations about the city for shopping and/or restaurants if asked. Jimena, the lovely young woman who is responsible for guest services, was extremely helpful with trip plans including Tango shows, restaurant and days trips suggestions both via email before our arrival and during our stay. Their office is on the ground floor and they are available during business hours to answer questions or help with reservations if needed. The building super, Pablo, lives on-site should you need anything outside of business hours. All of the staff were wonderful.
There is no business center but free wi-fi in all apartments. We didn't bring our laptops but it was pretty convenient to check email at the place across the street. No fitness center but there is a Megatlon a couple blocks away that offers day/week passes as well as a few other less expensive gyms in the area. Megatlon week pass is priced fairly but the day pass is overpriced.
We had a great time in Buenos Aires and a wonderful stay at the Poetry Building. Highly recommend!
Dear Brent, Jimena & Poetry Staff,
We had a great stay- the building is beautiful, the location great and staff is wonderful. We will highly recommend Poetry and hope to visit again. Thank you, Best.
We stayed in the penthouse for 7 nights in August and had a lovely time. The building is located in a great part of Recoleta, extremely safe, very convenient. We rarely planned for dinner ahead of time as there are easily enough restaurants within walking distance in the area. Additionally there are a number of small grocery stores nearby where you can pick up anything you might need for the week. We found this especially handy as there were a few nights where we felt that we literally couldn't walk another block that day.
Also within walking distance is Av. Santa Fe, which is great for shopping, and the Recoleta cemetery isn't far either. Brent, the owner, is very helpful and even gave us directions to the flea market where he'd bought some of the light fixtures in the building, it turned out to be far better shopping than what we had experienced in San Telmo.
The building itself is beautiful, Brent obviously has very good taste. We particularly enjoyed having the patio on the top floor, it was great for relaxing in the evenings, even though it was fairly cold at night. Highly recommend this place for an enjoyable stay in BA.
Spent a heavenly week here in June…spectacular quality and attention to detail…top notch kitchen appliances, sharp knives, great coffee maker, mugs, pans, spices, etc….excellent selection of ipod music, cell phone, TV, cozy comforter and bedding, etc…tastefully and elegantly decorated…amazing, amazing, amazing!!
Enjoyed lazy mornings on the balcony with pastries from the bakery a few doors down and fresh coffee, wine on the private terrace snuggled under a blanket with candles lit, etc. etc...after sightseeing, we spent a lot of time in the apartment because it was so immaculate and cozy.
Recommendations: no need to do much research on restaurants - we had the best time just stumbling upon FANTASTIC little spots while wandering the city. if you like to run we'd recommend the reserva ecologica - great 5 mile loop. enjoy!!!
My husband, my 89 year old handicapped mother and I stayed in the one bedroom apartment. Brent was wonderful as was Pablo the concierge. The apartment was beautiful and well appointed and if we needed anything, Pablo lived in the building and was happy to help. He even made the extra bed for my mother. The location is great, close to the shopping street of Santa Fe and the museums but safe to walk during the day and night. That was important with 'mom' along. We will stay here every time we pass through Ba.
LOZ, PORT DOUGLAS, AUSTRALIA / JUNE, 2010People must only experience Buenos aires one way - by staying at 1280 Junin in Recoletta. The apartment had all the class and elegance that this amazing city has. It's one of the few cities we've been too that we can say without a doubt that we could live in, and its all because of this apartment. A stylish, beautifully appointed apartment in a fabulous location, managed by a fantastic team in Brent and Yanina. Thanks to all for a memorable stay - its not a matter of if we'll be back, but when!!
SPRING LAKE TOURISTS, CANADA / JUNE, 2010We enjoyed our stay in this loft from April 25 - May 2/10.
This loft was absolutely what we had hoped for. It was meticulously clean, had all of the emenities we needed, it's location was great. They provided us with a list of great restuarants and thigs to see and do - all of which were extremely helpfull and accurate. After our one week stay, we moved to the Four Seasons in BA for a conference, and although that was an excellent hotel, it certainly felt like we took a step down.
All in all, I highly recommend this facility and this host.
Thanks Brent, you made our trip to BA very enjoyable.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can't say it enough!!!! 5 STARS!!!
My husband and I recently visited Buenos Aires for 3 weeks and decided to rent an apartment instead of reserving a hotel because of our length of stay. It couldn't have worked out any better.
First of all, the loft in Recoleta was AMAZING. So much style and elegance and in the best neighborhood in BA. We felt so safe and welcomed by everyone. Brent, the owner/management company, was extremely professional and prompt (which is essential when planning a trip from afar) and followed through with every promise. The loft lived up to the pics and far exceeded our expectations. From the charm of the building, uniqueness of the loft and to the roof deck pool, we were highly impressed. Not only was the loft respectfully decorated and extremely clean and well maintained, but it had several amenities I did not expect. For example having a local cell phone to use during our visit, cable w/ many English speaking channels, fully equipped kitchen, daily maid service, cozy living room AND a separate cozy loft area, etc. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived.
And again, the neighborhood is the best that BA has to offer. Very safe and clean, and walking distance to several great historical sights, restaurants, coffee houses, markets, etc. (FYI:You have to try the bakery down the street. We went every day after our first visit. Best baked goods I've ever tasted.)
We also loved that we could leave for a 2-3 day trip throughout our stay without having to check-in/check-out and pack all our belongings. It was so convenient having our own apartment, I can't express that enough.
In other words, everything was perfect!!!! I am highly recommending your place to all my friends and family.
So again, I want to thank Brent and everyone for making our vacation a wonderful experience and leaving us with such fond memories. We wouldn't have changed a thing and will definitely be back....
Thank you...xoxo.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was well situated in Recolleta within walking distance to many restaurants. Brent and his staff were very welcoming and made some excellent recommendations for restaurants (7 Baco was my favorite) and places to go. The apartment itself was perfect with a modern kitchen, many balconies and terraces to choose from along with a swimming pool at our disposal. The apartment was clean and well maintained. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.
PFINMTL, MONTREAL, CANADA / APRIL, 2010These appartments are perfect, they are tastefully furnished, bright and roomy. They are in a perfect neighbourhood which has beautiful architechture, many facilties and great restaurants. It is also a good base to explore the rest of the city. The swimming pool is nice to relax after a day in the city heat. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all great value for money and a great alternative to a hotel for both vacationers and business people. Will definately be staying there again next time I am in Buenos Aires.
KARA AND ANDREW, AUSTRALIA / APRIL, 2010Brent, You are a gem and the apartment was divine. Thanks so much.
WIND DIVA NAHANT, MA / APRIL, 2010Being my second visit to the exciting city of Buenos Aires, I was a little more familiar with the neighborhoods and was very happy to find a place in Recoleta.
I can't say enough positive things about my entire experience staying in this property. From the staff, to the manager Brent, to the beautiful and safe apartments within the mansion, all were spectacular! I look forward to visiting again next year and staying in this beautiful property. I recommend any of the apartments, as they all have their own unique benefits and charm.
Brent and his staff were nothing but reliable, warm and professional during my entire stay. They receive high marks on all accounts!
We had a great time! This property is absolutely beautiful with a home-away-from-home feel to it. The apartment was tastefully decorated with all the perks - from IPod station with downloaded music, Flat screen TV, wine in the refrigerator. The managers were very helpful and accommodating. It is located in a great street with beautiful buildings (great architecture) and just about everything you can think of within walking distance. The best bakery is a few doors down. We love Buenos Aires, the people and a gorgeous place to vacation and live.....The experience had a very European feel to it....Loved it!!!
SARA S., BEVERLY HILLS, UNITED STATUS / MARCH, 2010My husband and I recently travelled to Buenos Aires on vacation for a month and rented a apartment at 1280 Junin. We were absolutely amazed and pleasantly surprised with all the wonder features of our apartment and the location.
Typically we tend to stay at the Four Seasons whenever we travel, however, because of our extended stay we decided to rent an apartment. This is the first time we've booked "site unseen" and couldn't have been more pleased. The location is the best in BA and soon after we felt like locals. Wandering to the bakery each morning, laundry service across the street, shopping at the local grocery store around the corner, and excellent restaurants all within walking distance. It was so clean, safe, charming and convenient.
The apartment itself was comfortable, cozy and full and class. Very stylish! It was fully furnished and had every amenity you could want, including a local cell phone. The management was very professional and delivered on every promise. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to all of my friends and family!
Thank you again for such a wonder stay, we can't wait to come back!!!
My wife and I recently traveled to BA and booked our stay using VRBO. The flat was stunning with amazing attention to detail, as if no expense was spared. Service and amenities were comparable to any luxury hotel. The flat included all the amenities you need, (wifi, local cell phone, cable, flat screen, AC, fully equipped kitchen, etc.) and was beautifully furnished. The building was quiet, clean, safe, with a great roof deck pool. Management was responsive and timely. The neighborhood was safe and charming with several restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, etc., all within walking distance. A true neighborhood feel. I highly recommend this property.
SHEENJAMIN LOS ANGELES, CA / MARCH, 2010My wife and I stayed at this location, in the suite, for our honeymoon and had the best of time. The apartment is gorgeous and well decorated. There is a very good view of the city where you can enjoy a glass of wine or two. The apartment is also well situated for visiting Buenos Aires. It is very close to both downtown and palermo, which are great for going out and eating. Brent, who runs the place, is a great guy, and he was extremely helpful with providing us information on the city, especially where to eat. All in all, it was a lovely experience, which we are looking forward to repeating.
LOURDES C BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA / FEBRUARY, 2010We had the best time in this property which is so centrally located. It felt like we were home away from home. The amenities were fantastic with an incredible dipping pool on the rooftop. We had access to the gym's and just about anything we needed within walking distance. The best "bakery" was a few doors down and what a nice treat. The area was very safe and gorgeous with the most beautiful architectural buildings in the Recoleta area. We appreciate the hospitality and attention the property managers provided during our stay.
We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an upscale experience.
We stayed in The Penthouse of The Mansion, AMAZING! We had 4 days there and loved it. The apartment was really comfortable and has a fun, eclectic mix of modern and antique furniture, very "Buenos Aires" looking. The apartment has loads of space and two great balconies, one for breakfast and a private terrace upstairs for sunbathing or just chilling out on the sofa and enjoying the night sky. Wifi and a big tv means you have all the entertainment you need (there’s an ipod dock which even comes with an ipod and music) and the kitchen has about eight of everything so you can cook for yourself and friends. The pool area outside is great by day and by night and a really good spot to cool off when it’s baking hot and humid. The location couldn’t be better, you are in Recoleta half way between "the city" and Palermo. Perfect, close to subways, and big avenues. We felt completely safe in this area, walking late in the streets and discovering amazing restaurants and cafes. HIGHLY recommended!
JONLY LAFAYETTE, CA USA / FEBRUARY, 2010My husband stayed for a week in this apartment. It was our home away from home with all the amenities you can think of: full kitchen, flat screen tv, iPod loaded with music and speakers, A/C, free wi-fi, and pool. The queen bed was medium-firm with cozy down comforters. Upstairs there is a large terrace with a day bed that is great for reading a book or just sipping some wine. Although there were modern appliances and electronics, the apt retained a sense of old world charm with tasteful chairs, and area rug on top of the hardwood floors. The apartment was very clean upon arrival and its condition is like new. It gets plenty of light during the day, but if you want to take a nap, just draw the floor to ceiling long drapes closed. Pack light, because there is a laundry facility just steps away that will wash and fold your clothes inexpensively. You just drop off in the morning and pick up before dinner. This was one of many tips from the gracious owners/managers of the building. They provided us with a list of their favorite restaurants which allowed us to eat at some amazing places that aren't necessarily mentioned in the travel guide books. Don't worry about bringing and electricity converter, as they have them there for you at no additional charge. They even let you borrow a cell phone that will work locally when you load it with so many minutes. Fortunately we used Skype thru our phone to call our kids every day for pennies. The apt. is centrally located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires--about a 5 minute walk from the famous Recoleta cemetery where Evita is buried. We enjoyed walking to a different neighborhood each day (Palermo Hollywood, Palermo Soho, Retiro, Centro, Barrio Norte) and enjoying food from one of the restaurants off the recommended list. Activities that are memorable in B.A. for us: watching a soccer game, shopping at an open market, seeing Tango performed in the street (usually at the open market), drinking malbec and eating incredible food, eating ice cream at Volta, sleeping in with no kids to cook for and seeing all the beautiful architecture throughout the City. What a wonderful place to visit! We'll definitely be back and will stay in the same place we did. It was a luxurious stay at a reasonable price.
JOHN AND ANNA, MONTREAL,CANADA / JANUARY, 2010We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to BA. We especially enjoyed our stay at Brent's apartment. Brent and Jannina were wonderful. Their attention to details was really appreciated, especially the fresh flowers on our arrival. The apartment is new and tastefully furnished, the layout worked very well and the building's architecture, blended history with modern stainless and glass. The Results.... Spectacular! One of our best trips.
Brent, Yanina and Pablo! We offer you our compliment on this remarkable architectural accomplishment!
The talented blending of old with the new – excepted wonderfully.
These splendid surroundings added a unique charm to our stay in BA. Thank you Brent and Yanina for looking after the details so professionally.
We wish you success in this exciting venture. Let´s keep in touch.
We stayed in this unit during 2009 Xmas break. The apt is well furnished & tastefully done. The bedding, linen & sofa bed were of high quality & comfortable. It was perfect for our family of 4. Location is excellent & within walking distance to major attractions, restaurants & stores. This recently restored, charming building offered a quiet oasis after busy days of sightseeing. Brent & his team were professional & very service oriented. The provided pre-paid cell phone was useful to stay in touch with friends traveling with us. We highly recommend this apt & will use again when we return to Bs As.
THE THORSONS, LAFAYETTE, CA / JANUARY, 2010Brent and Yanina,
What an amazing gift for the weary traveller to find this home away from home! Thank you so much for your hospitality. 1280 Junin was truly special for us as our gateway to Buenos Aires and Argentina. Until we meet again we wish you warmest thoughts and best of wishes with everything.
Brent, Yanina and Pablo!
We were so lucky to have found such a beautiful place to stay in Buenos Aires! All of the suites we stayed in – each had something very special. The mix of new and old, the artwork, the furnishings – stunning.
It was really a home away from home. Thank you for such wonderful accommodations, and all your friendly smiles! We will miss Junin 1280 and all of you – although not for to long – we will be back. Besos! Best!
Fantastic apartment in a great location. In person, it looks exactly like the pictures (which is unusual). Lots of space, great light and furnishing, in a beautiful building. I highly recommend this property.
