Apartments for rent in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Temporary rentals. Luxury apartments. Vacation rentals · Poetry Building RecoletaL P, LONDON, UK / MAY 2015
Recommended to me by word of mouth on a previous visit, this hotel proved to be the best I've ever stayed in Buenos Aires. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The location is ideal: close to just about everything needed for a comfortable longer stay (11 days in my case), and yet quiet. Within walking distance of several attractions and well served by public transport. A true home from home. .FORMACND / MAY 2015
my wife and i stayed in one of the apartments in early may 2015 and our stay was perfect. The staff at the poetry building were wonderful, they made our stay very easy and enjoyable, they were there to help us with trips, dinner reservations and advice, they really are a great team.
The building itself is charming and the rooms/apartments are tasteful and comfortable, the location in the heart of Recoletta is central to everything .
B.A. has so much to offer and it can be overwhelming but the owners and staff of this excellent establishment make you feel like a visiting guest and not a paying client, I can not recommend the Poetry Building enough it is a a treasure and when we return to B.A. we will be staying at the poetry.
My wife and I booked this hotel for our 5 year anniversary trip. The staff arranged everything to perfection from our arrival at 3Am to every event we wanted to do. The staff is as advertised, they are helpful but no intrusive.
The hotel room was spacious and the amenities were perfect. The garden at top where you can pick in season fruits and vegetables was a great concept. The location is perfect with plenty of restaurants and cafes within a short walk.
I work at a 5 star resort and club and the hotel is on par with service at any world class hotel.
There is never any doubt where we will stay each time we return to BA as the Poetry Building has truly become our home away from home. On our fourth stay we choose a loft as the fall weather is not conducive to sitting on your balcony. The apartment is really spectacular with high ceilings and is very spacious and features a cozy and comfortable loft equipped with an excellent entertainment system. The floor to ceiling French doors provide great ventilation and light and lend a very Parisian feel to the apartment. Fresh flowers and a bottle of wine welcomed us, adding to the intimate and romantic ambiance. The bedroom has a beautiful four poster king size bed, just the right firmness and with excellent quality linens and pillows. The double French doors to the street insure quietness and the rich draperies keep the light out at night. There is a well equipped kitchen and a full size fridge if you intend to eat in, and the grocery store is just around the corner. Even better there are excellent pasta, wine and cheese stores just a short walk away as well as a great Cafe at the corner for cafe con leche and a media luna in the morning. Do not miss the bakery two doors down the street, the chocolate covered churros with dulce the leche filling are sinfully irresistible and they also prepare excellent sandwiches for takeout. The neighborhood is very safe and close to most attractions so walking is a pleasure. The Poetry Building is one of the main reasons we enjoy BA so much, the apartments are charming, impeccably clean and so conveniently located. Every one on the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to assist. We are already planning our next visit!MARIE M, SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA, USA / MAY 2015
This little gem was a great experience for us. We loved the loft and the luxurious & contemporary feel of the room. It was really a Studio complete with a kitchenette. The hotel staff was very proactive and informative prior to our arrival. They made arrangement for our pick up from the airport, welcomed us with a nice bottle of wine and catered to us like family. They were very accomodating on all our requests. We loved the I-pod in the room with great music selection. A nice touch also was the portable phone.
The area is safe and closed to everything you need from restaurant to shopping within walking distance.
Gorgeous oasis amongst the chaos. We stayed 6 nights in this beautiful building, great character filled decor and furniture.
Kitchen was well enough equiped for two nights of reasonable home cooking.
Staff were fantastic accomodating, helpful, and sorted a few things out for us.
A great intro to Buenos Aires .....
Close to all the shopping, half way between key sites Palermo and San Telmo......a good walk or a short taxi to either....
Overall highly recommended.
A beautiful apartment in a great location. The "apartments" were spacious and very comfortable. Nice touches a complete kitchen, coffee and water. The staff is on my top 10 as far as hospitality and accommodation. This is my -place in BA and I will never shop for places again.SUSANA CAROLINA B, VILLA ALLENDE, CORDOBA, ARGENTINA / APRIL 2015
This is a lovely place to stay in an excellent location in BA. The rooftop pool was rather cool in April, but that didn't stop our daughter spending most afternoons splashing around. Our apartment was really well presented and we'd recommend Poetry to anyone wanting more space and independence than a regular hotel room.CHIKAAW / APRIL 2015
This is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. Not only is it a great place, it is run by some great people - everyone is so warm and helpful, and the location can't be beat. Before I booked this hotel I could not decide weather to stay here or palermo soho, but once I got to the palermo soho area to look around I was relieved to see that Recoleta is so much more special. It's beautiful and unique here. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. I wish there were more places like this.GLORIASOTO, CHILE / APRIL 2015
Fortunately this was not too good to be true... It was the real thing!! I booked with ease after speaking with the gracious owner. The photos are spot on... charming, well-appointed with all amenities including coffee, tea, sugar, filters, paper products, dish soap sponge, shampoo, and conditioner. The security was A1 and there was always someone at the desk until 9pm and then we had the innkeeper living on premises. I did arrange for airport pick up and drop off and it went like clockwork. I booked all of my excursions with the folks in the lobby and was not disappointed. The cleaning staff was very thorough and the apartment was very very clean. We enjoyed the fantastic rooftop pool and picked our lime, tomatoes and jalapenos from the rooftop organic garden which was a work of art. We explored out neighborhood and felt like locals in the grocery store and the delicious well known bakery next door..Dulce de Leche and Ricotta pastries fresh every morning. I am looking forward to returning soon. It will be like going home. I celebrated my 56th birthday while there and was surprised by a big bouquet of flowers, balloons and yummy box of chocolates from all of my new friends at Poetry Building.CPASSANT, NEW YORK, USA / APRIL 2015
Found this little gem here on Trip Advisor. Amazing location. Great value. Top notch customer service. We will definitely be back. Movie night is a nice touch where they project American classics on the building next door. Gorgeous apartment. In great shape and super clean. Good security too.JULIA T, LIVINGSTON, NEW JERSEY, USA / APRIL 2015
Spent 3 nights in Buenos Aires and loved our stay at the Poetry building. The neighborhood was ideal for exploring, tourist attractions, and dining. The staff made dinner reservations for us at our request and we loved every restaurant they picked. They were always available for anything we needed and each staff member had a unique and charming personality!
The building is old and full of charm. The decor is an eclectic mix of modern and antique. The apartment had everything we needed and it was great to " come home". The size of our flat was perfect for 3 and we loved the look and feel of the place. The building was very secure. Overall a wonderful experience.
We staying in the Poetry Building for 10 days and loved every minute - our room was very spacious for 3 people and we felt extremely comfortable. Although this apartment faced a busy street the dual-pane windows/doors kept out the noise making the apartment super quiet. The apartment had great amenities including a full kitchen (with coffee and tea supplies), a hair dryer and towels in the bathroom, and even a power adapter.
Poetry Building is in the beautiful Recoleta neighborhood and is walking distance to many attractions (Av Santa Fe, 9 de Julio, Recoleta Cemetery, City Tour stop, etc.). It is also surrounded by delicious restaurants and is conveniently located near grocery stores.
Poetry Building's staff was amazing! They were readily available to answer questions, provide us with city maps, tour suggestions, etc. We loved our experience and would definitely stay here again.
Great small hotel in a very nice neighborhood close to the city center and attractions. Excellent customer service: hotel staff replied to all my emails, booked all requested activities, and helped with restaurant recommendations. Apartment where we strayed (4A) had a nice balcony, where we had breakfast and fully equipped kitchen. Organic garden is very nice: tomatoes from there were very tasty.CONNIE C, WINNETKA, ILLINOIS, USA / MARCH 2015
We spent our first night here. The owners/service staff at Poetry were incredibly helpful with just about everything. The room was clean, spacious and decorated in a cool/hip Buenos Aires kind of way - we were incredibly comfortable. My children loved the pool - I loved the ambiance. We felt safe and this was our "home base". Would return again, without question. While the hotel is not right in city center, that's what made it so special. A bit off the beaten track, you experience a different part of Buenos Aires, and yet you are close enough to everything else that matters.NICASPOUSES, MANAGUA, NICARAGUA / MARCH 2015
We stayed at The Poetry Building in April, 2013 and thought it was lovely, excellent location and friendly, caring staff. So, when we returned to Buenos Aires in March, 2015, of course we decided to stay here again. Once again our expectations were exceeded!
Every apartment at the Poetry is unique. On our last visit we stayed in 4B, a lovely 1 bedroom with king bed with a private balcony - we loved it. On our most recent visit we stayed in 2B which also has a big bedroom (king bed) plus a 2nd bedroom in the "loft". This unit also had a balcony where we could enjoy our morning coffee and "medialunas" (little croissants) from the bakery around the corner.
The staff at the Poetry do an exceptional job. Every member of the staff made us feel welcome and they offered ideas to make our visit as enjoyable as possible.
Obviously, we highly recommend The Poetry Building if you are looking for a memorable place to stay in Buenos Aires.
Buenos Aires is a very busy metropolis, bustling away 24/7, so when you can find a place like this, in a great position, a safe area, and sooooo quiet.....just take it! Whilst researching our South American trip, I came across this gem through TA, and thought we need to start off in a great place....Poetry Building did not disappoint. On arrival, a member of their staff welcomed us enthusiastically....orientating us very efficiently, and helped us with all things logistic and otherwise. They did not hesitate to come to our aid whenever we asked questions. about anything. ALL matters, great and small were addressed so well.LAUREN S / FEBRUARY 2015
The Poetry Building was an excellent place to stay when we were in Buenos Aires! The room was lovely, with a balcony and kitchen, and the staff was incredibly helpful. It's in a nice central location close to many things we wanted to see and do. We were also able to extend our stay one more night with no problem. Highly recommended!CRAIG L, WASHINGTON DC, USA / FEBRUARY 2015
Just got back from B.A. We were there with a group for a friend's birthday, and we all rented apartments in the Poetry Building for one week. Can't say enough good things about the place. The building and the apartments were nicer in-person than in the photos. Our studio was comfortable, was quiet at night, and was very spacious for two people. The roof deck with the pool was great. The location was perfect - we walked everywhere and rarely used cabs. And the staff were wonderful, incredibly helpful. I would recommend it to anyone considering a trip to B.A.BAGSHAW2015, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA / FEBRUARY 2015
Pros: Location - beautiful neighbourhood, great bakeries, supermarkets, etc close by. 5 - 10 walk to recoletta cemetery... We didn't use public transport, walked everywhere, and caught a couple of easy Taxis in the evening.
Security: Very secure building and neighbourhood.
Room: We stayed in Room 4B, didn't end up using our private balcony as the intimate pool area was really nice to chill in the evenings or enjoy your own breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Complimentary wine on arrival. Large kitchen and lounge area, large bedroom.
Staff: Polite, Positive, Informative, Bilingual. Arranged airport transfers and a tour for us before arrival with no trouble.
Negatives: Hard to find anything important to criticise. Be prepared for a smallish bathroom, however remember the building is like a heritage type building.
Overall: Easy, pain free stay in a perfect area for two women, safe, clean and good value for money. Won't let you down.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Poetry Building in Buenos Aires. As a first time traveler to BsAs and a non-Spanish speaker, I gravitated toward this hotel rather than rent an apartment and I was so glad I did. Conveniently located in the heart of Recoleta, I found it easy to walk both day and night. The hotel is close to a metro line if walking or taxis aren't preferred means of travel. The hotel is beautiful. I rented the loft apartment which was nicely appointed and felt a lot nicer than the price. Most helpful to me was the staff: they were always ready to assist me with suggestions and directions. Although I researched the trip extensively, I may not have found the best gelato on earth, or amazing tapas and dulce de leche if it weren't for them. Overall, I had an excellent experience at the Poetry
Building and when I return, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
This place is perfect- we spent a ton of time on the rooftop deck (well 4th story but still sunny and high up). The pool was perfect to cool off and loved the honesty bar up there- very convenient and fairly priced too! We stayed in 3b and the architecture and decor of the room was stunning- they thought of everything, down to the ipod/speaker system loaded with classic songs. The staff was super helfpul and sweet.DUBLINANNIEMA, BOSTON & CHICAGO, USA / JANUARY 2015
Like others reviewers, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Poetry Building. We loved the amazing guest experience from the welcoming atmosphere to our well-furnished 2A apartment, the Recoleta location, and the ease of access in getting around BA from there. Our stay was all the more wonderful thanks to the hospitable and friendly staff who went out of their way to make our first time in BA truly memorable. We can't thank you enough! Las ChicasLAUREN9393, WASHINGTON DC, USA / JANUARY 2015
This is a great boutique hotel. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. They are actually apartments with kitchens -- we stayed in the studio, which was plenty of space for 2 people. The roofdeck is a beautiful little space (although not much of a view). The pool is small but nice. The building is right in the middle of the Recoletta neighborhood, and it's very easy to get around. Neighborhood is adorable, and safe. Hotel seems very secure. It's a great place to stay if you want a little more character than a chain hotel, but still want a clean and convenient experience.ANDREA P, BOSTON, USA / DECEMBER 2014
Our family of 5 loved the Poetry Building. The 2 apartments provided us with enough room to be comfortable and rest after a long, hot day in BA. The rooms are well-appointed, kind-of funky looking; the staff is kind and helpful; and the location can't be beat. Very central and lots to do nearby. The rooftop pool and the organic garden are welcome retreats. Absolutely would stay again.LITTLETOBY, SEATTLE, WAHINGTON, USA / DECEMBER 2014
From first to last, our experience at the Poetry Building was all we had hoped and more. The staff gave us a warm welcome and everyone was happy to make suggestions and help with logistics for everything from polo to tango, restaurants, and transportation. Our room, a studio with a patio, was tastefully furnished and comfortable. We bought breakfast things at the bakery down the block, and there was coffee and tea in the fully equipped kitchen. The common areas, including a rooftop garden and pool, were nice for lounging. We really felt at home, and pampered at the same time. We hope to return to Poetry soon!YDIANEY, TORONTO, CANADA / DECEMBER 2014
Located in safe neighbourhood with grocery store on the block behind and pastry shop within 50 feet. Lots of restaurant choices in the area. Recoleta Cemetery with green space and Recoleta Shopping Mall is 4 blocks away. One bedroom apt 4B with patio was large, brightly decorated, faced Junin Street, had a full kitchen, very comfortable queen bed and separate pull out sofa in living room if needed. Patio was lovely for a glass of wine or morning coffee. Walking distance to Puerto Madero waterfront, Palermo Soho, Florida Street, Teatro Colon, Recoleta bistros. Apartment was brightly decorated, clean, quiet, safe. Good hotel alternative if you like solitude and privacy. Staff spoke English.MIKE S, GOLDEN, COLORADO, USA / DECEMBER 2014
These are actually apartments. My thoughts are that it is comparable to staying in an apartment in New York City. It's on a street with a little traffic, my room 3C faced the back, was very quiet. AC worked great, Kitchen and living room were small but functional. Hotel Desk was very helpful, let me borrow a subway card (that I loaded with $) and used for the bus and Subway. Many good restaurants were close, about 7 blocks to Cemetary. I would definitely repeat.ARTUR C / NOVEMBER 2014
The Poetry Building is perfectly located in Recoleta, where we had a ton of great dining, sightseeing and nightlife options, while feeling completely safe. The first thing we noticed (besides the beautiful decoration in the lobby and the rooms) was our "welcome package" from the amazing staff. On our kitchen counter was a bottle of wine (Malbec, of course) along with an extremely helpful guide on all things Buenos Aires. Tons of great tips that even a Lonely Planet nerd like myself would never have discovered. While we didn't need it, a pre-paid mobile phone was also made available to us. Beautiful place to stay in Recoleta with an incredible staff. Gracias por todo!CAROLIN L, VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA / NOVEMBER 2014
My husband and I spent 8 nights, first week of November in a one bedroom suite 4B. As I recall or stay, my only complaint is that we are not back at the Poetry Building right now! This type of accomodation is exactly what we look for, but most often cannot find. It offers the privacy and independence of an apartment, but provides the luxury and personal attention of a boutique hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the furnishings stylish but functional. The location, staff, rooftop patio, restaurant recommendations, currency exchange were all spot on. If you require towel service, a card on your door notifies staff. If you require a clean, same system. We walked everywhere (almost...this is a very large city), and looked forward everyday to our return home to the Poetry.
I cannot recommend this accomodation with more enthusiasm, unless this is not the type of situation you are looking for. To the owner, Brent, congratulations on this incredible project...hoping to see you again!
Excellent location with friendly staff which went above and beyond. The building is in great shape (a bit confused by the reviews suggesting it's not quite as nice as the pictures - the place is lovely). Many helpful small details: special towels for the rooftop plunge pool, an organic garden on the roof with herbs, veggies, etc that you can use while cooking, coffee maker, area guidebooks, electrical converters for USA chargers, an honor bar with beer & wine at the rooftop pool, reliable wi-fi, concierge area with tips for tours & making reservations and a local cellphone. Close to shopping, restaurants, ATM's, Recoleta Cemetery, grocery stores, dry cleaner, nail salon, taxi's, etc. all in a safe area. Surprisingly well priced in such a good neighborhood. Highly recommend.NANCYLEA, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA / NOVEMBER 2014
I stayed at the Poetry Building while visiting my daughter, who is studying in Buenos Aires. I can only say--it was perfect! The stylish modern yet traditional decor was lovely, location in the Recoleta is wonderful with two excellent cafes yards away and the surreal Recoleta Cemetary..a half mile walk away. We had a small cocktail party for my daughter's fiends and the staff could not have been nicer--even providing us with extra glasses and keeping our ordered food ready in the kitchen downstairs. The bed/linens were lovely too. Would stay there again in a hot minute!!!MICHAELSTUTZ, CELERINA, SWITZERLAND / NOVEMBER 2014
The poetry is at great location to explore ba. a hidden place with cool urban rooms. our favourite is the 2B with two floors. we would come back if we would stay at buenos aires again. have a good one. thanks to the great staff; very friendly as most in argentina!!HILDE6ONTARIO, ONTARIO, CANADA / NOVEMBER 2014
Would definitely give these accommodations a perfect score! The location in Recolata was very central, the building and apartments very clean and the staff super accommodating. Every recommendation they made was fantastic! So nice to have more of a "home" feel when you're away as opposed to a big name hotel. Very happy with our choice, would highly recommend.DANIELA P / OCTOBER 2014
O ambiente e moderno, fino e caloroso.
Hotel de excelente bom gosto!
The Poetry building is a small, serviced apartment, block. We pre-booked a car with them from the airport. The on-duty receptionist welcomed us and gave us an introductory tour of our apartment and its facilities. She and her colleagues were very helpful and friendly during our stay, with no language problems. They advised us about local and city facilities etc. The apartment was well furnished and any issues which arose during our stay were promptly dealt with. There are plenty of shops around as are some of Buenos Aires' tourist attractions. Transport links - bus and metro -into the city centre are close by and taxis are not expensive. We booked on the recommendation of friends and would have no hesitation in endorsing their recommendation.edgardo j, RIBERAO PRETO, BRAZIL / OCTOBER 2014
Located in the heart of Recoleta, The Poetry Building offered us comfortable abode with kitchen, living area, separate loft with TV, and very comfortable bedroom area. The staff go out of their way to connect you with their incredible city whatever your interest. There are incredible restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. Cafes are everywhere. There is a nice lavanderia (laundry) across the street and a grocery one block over. The Poetry Building has it all, caring concierge, location, amenities, and comfort.
I love BA
Our two kids, my wife and I spent a week at the Poetry Building and loved every minute of it.
It begins with the environment of Recoleta, which makes it central to anything you wish to discover and enjoy in Buenos Aires, by foot or quick taxi ride.
It continues with the building itself: all the charm of an early XXth century mansion in which the owner designed generous living space. It goes on with the room itself (we had 4B, bathed with sunlight, quiet, and roomy enough for 4, with all the amenities that make you feel home, but many other rooms were tempting).
Perhaps an even higher point was the kindness of everyone we met and the help/time they granted us to make this first stay in Argentina a great memory already: from the ballet school the owner kindly found for our daughter, to advice we had with the rest of the staff, all of whom spoke the perfect English we needed to compensate for our low mastery of Spanish.
The place deserves its name and reputation, which this review only adds to. Many thanks again, Francois
We spend 13 days in BA.
As many have said great location, great rooms, great variety of rooms and an especially great staff.
It's not a depersonalized corporate hotel experience but much more like having your own apartment in town with some great friends to give you advice on what to do and where to eat etc.
There is no restaurant on premises but it isn't needed. You are stocked with coffee tea and sugar and a full kitchen. A friendly bakery is four doors away, a local Supermarket is around the corner and many great restaurants deliver via web ordering.
You are 4 blocks from Recoleta Mall, Cemetery and the The Recoleta Cultural Centre. Also a short walk to "The Flower" which is next to the National Museum of Fine Arts.
You also receive a local cell phone for your stay that you can buy two weeks worth of calls and texts for a few pesos.
It's centrally located, you can go anywhere you would want to go in BA for less than a 60 pesos (currently less then $5 US) and cabs are available constantly, even when it rains.
Boa estadia.
Great location in Recoleta, near many restaurants, shops, and sights, and in the middle of one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Comfortable apartments and studios. Excellent and helpful staff. As other reviewers have noted, the experience is more like having one's own apartment than being in a hotel. The availability of a full kitchen in every unit is a plus. Our unit (5B) was quiet and had TWO private terraces with one of them up a flight of internal stairs. The building provides you with a cell phone that you can borrow for the length of your stay (you can add minutes at the corner), as well as an iPod loaded with a good selection of music. There's a great bakery down the street, a tea place at the corner half a block away, and a full supermarket on the block behind the building. The building is within walking distance of the Subte (the subway) and of the Recoleta cemetery.LUISMACHDO311, SAO PAULO, BRAZIL / AUGUST 2014
We spent five nights at the Poetry Building traveling with my aunt from Texas. We stayed in 2B, a two bedroom loft. It was exceedingly comfortable, well-equipped, and in a great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful in providing recommendations for shopping, restaurants and helping to set up tours. A good grocery store is one block away, excellent shopping is in the neighborhood and first-class restaurants are within walking distance. The decor is very good and the rooms are private and quiet. We don't know where you could find better value for the money. An exceedingly comfortable place to stay that we will highly recommend to our friends4-2TOKYO, OTTAWA, CANADA / AUGUST 2014
We spend 7 nights in a loft apartment at the Poetry Building.we were traveling with 2 teenaged daughters. It was a great experience from start to finish. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. The loft was perfect, spacious, very well appointed and the kitchen had all that we needed. It truly is like living in an apartment in Buenos Aires. We walked everywhere and the Poetry Building is very centrally located. We would highly recommend itmonicakplusis, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL / AUGUST 2014
The Poetry Building was the perfect place for our first stay in Buenos Aires. The location in the Recoleta neighborhood was great for a short walk/cab ride to all of the sights we wanted to explore. The "room" itself was really more like a nicely decorated, modern one-bedroom apartment with a separate sitting area and kitchen. The relatively small number of units at the Poetry combined with the fantastic hospitality of the on-site staff made the whole place feel like a little home away from home.
When you add-in the balcony overlooking Junin street, the IPod w/ tunes in the bedroom, the complimentary bottle of nice Malbec, in-room WiFi, the uniqueness of the decor, the availability of great pastries, snacks and groceries within 20 meters (literally) of the front of the building.......and on and on. Short version of this review: the Poetry is our first choice to stay when we return to Buenos Aires.
We stayed six nights here in June, and it was nothing short of amazing. The room was big, beautifully decorated and well-equipped, with everything from guide books to a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. Location is excellent - a quiet street within walking distance to the cemetery, but close to Santa Fe for taxis.
The best part, by far, was the attentive and helpful staff - everyone was welcoming and kind, offering advice and opinions at every opportunity. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, booking restaurants, tango shows and even an appointment at a custom leather tailor..!
Extremamente atenciosos. E proximo de muitos cafes e restaurantes. Maravilhoso.OTTORINO C, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL / APRIL 2014
We spent 5 wonderful days at the Poetry in Buenos Aires. And the Poetry had an important contribution to our positive experience, making us feeling like at home. There is no deception at all, the flats and the Poetry overall, are warm, comfortable and lovely as you can see from the pictures and read in their descriptions of the web pages. People are nice and helpful. Overall an experience to be recommended and, if at all possible, repeated again.ISTAGO, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA / APRIL 2014
Wonderful boutique hotel, with thoughtful amenities -- a mobile phone that can be loaded with credit, a well-stocked apartment with the simple things I needed (scissors to trim the ends off of flowers for the vase? check! in-room safe with digital password? check! ipod with great mood music? check!) and a truly helpful staff to orient me to the city. It's a small enough property that they watch out for your arrival and departure. Traveling alone, that meant a lot to me. I wish there was a hotel like this in every city I visit.DamJamLondon, London, UK / APRIL 2014
We had a great stay at the Poetry Building in Recoleta. We decided to stay here, as having looked at other hotels in/around Recoleta and Palermo, it offered so much more space at a great price, which is ideal when traveling with a family. The owners have done a wonderful job renovating this old building into modern, comfortable and beautifully decorated accommodation.
We stayed in Duplex 2D. The room was equipped with a working kitchen and came stocked with coffee and tea. We enjoyed getting pastries at the bakery a few doors down each morning and brewing tea & coffee in the room to start our day. We loved ending a long day of walking and touring with a quick dip in the shallow end of the rooftop pool, although by the end of March, it was getting a bit cool.
The hotel is located in a quieter neighborhood, but we found it to be a perfect location if you want to get anywhere within the city. It's very easy to flag taxi outside the hotel or two blocks down on Santa Fe. There are several little shops, bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants within a couple of blocks. The famous Recoleta cemetery is a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, which is truly an amazing site to visit and an absolute must see if visiting BA.
The staff were welcoming, gracious and helpful. They arranged dinner reservations for us, advised on transport, and provided our daughter a little guidance in the art of tango (thanks Ken!). Whatever you needed - they were friendly and willing to help with anything.
One personal touch that the Poetry Building provides is a welcome letter and bottle of wine on check-in. Wine is always appreciated, but the the welcome letter (or rather several pages of useful information) helped familiarize us with Buenos Aires and the Recoleta neighborhood. It advised on everything from good local restaurants & parillas to local laundry facilities to tipping policies. It is packed full of great information that you may want to know, but always forget to ask or research before you go. I found myself referring to several times over the course of our stay.
The Poetry Building's comfort and personal touches definitely make it a gem of a hotel to stay at when visiting Buenos Aires!
We loved our stay at Poetry in BA. Our room was quiet, huge and very comfortable. But what really makes Poetry so very special are the staff. They were just magnificent! Nothing was a bother and our every need and expectation was met and surpassed! While there is no restaurant, there as many close by. There are also shops handy to pick up snacks and drinks. The little pool at Poetry is a gem as well. Just perfect after a hot walk around the city. Great location and we felt comfortable walking around the area at all hours! Highly recommended!Austravel47, Wollongong, Australia / MARCH 2014
We stayed two nights in March. The hotel is in an upmarket, safe neighbourhood. We wandered round day and night and always felt safe. It is an easy, short walk to the Recoleta Cemetery and just around the corner from a number of excellent cafes and restaurants.
The rooms were large, clean and quiet. The hotel is relatively inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area. Most staff spoke English and were always friendly and helpful. In all, it was one of our favourite hotels during our holiday in Argentina and Brazil and I highly recommend it.
I cannot say enough good things about Poetry. My husband and I stayed there on the first leg of our trip, and it was perfect - great location, absolutely fantastic staff, and a lovely atmosphere. We stayed in one of the penthouses and loved it, as it was very nice to have the terrace space. Would recommend Poetry with no reservations.Hezole, Metz, France / March 2014
We stayed at the Poetry in March and loved it. We arrived with two Argentine friends who had met us at the airport. All four of us were so impressed with the location and the gracious welcome. It is easy to get around Buenos Aires from the Poetry, there are great restaurants within walking distance, and the lobby and apartments are great. Whoever may be at the desk in the morning is happy to help you plan or arrange things. The small pool and lounge area on the roof is icing on the cake. I'll send all of our friends here when they go to Buenos Aires.Leoericelisa, Agen, France / February 2014
Aussie BJ, Brisbane, Australia / January 2014
The hotel is a delight! Located in the Recoleta district it is a short distance to major attractions, but the district itself is also a major attraction, with restaurants, a supermarket, pharmacies, small bistros and many other shops close by. Poetry has a pleasant ambience about it and the room we had was large, bright and a pleasure to stay in! The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to provide good service - for example, by checking an unusual address for us and ensuring the taxi driver knew where to go. Recommended!Tom S, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA / January 2014
Poetry is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location. My wife and I traveled to BA in mid January to visit our son who is studying at the university. We stayed six nights at the Poetry based on the reviews I discovered on tripadvisor. Easy walking distance to a number of attractions (eg. cemetery) and in a great, safe neighborhood. Bakery and smaller grocery (with cold beer!) were just down the block. A larger supermarket is a street away. The staff was very helpful and accommodating throughout. We took advantage of their offer to arrange for airport transportation and that worked out extremely well. The dipping pool offered a quiet, welcome retreat after a day's activities in the city. We couldn't have made a better choice.Bernatchez, Montreal, Quebec, Canada / January 2014
Been to BA six times and this is by far the nicest place to stay.
They have just got it right. Clean, we'll serviced and well they're just nice people too.
It's also in a decent area. Close enough to the centre but far enough out too. Many local restaurants to eat with locals or grab a cab there are hundreds passing every hour.
Stayed in Apartment 5A, loved it. We never ate in but the apartment gave us the freedom to wander around BA or just hang out.
When we come again, and we will, we'll definitely stay here. Top place and pretty good value too.
Sorry to leave can't wait to come back.
Lovely people, lovely place.
This place is excellent on all accounts - especially for the English speaking traveller. The rooms are tastefully furnished and very spacious. Complimentary bottle of wine, tea and water. The staff are superb, they go out their way to help. When the rooms are cleaned - they are really cleaned! This place has right! It is so comfortable it is easy to spend a lot of time in the rooms - there are books on Argentina scattered throughout the rooms and common areas. Great security. Great atmosphere to the place. Can't be faulted!Kagan44, Oslo, Norway / December 2013
Everything was just perfect from start to finish .....great apartment and very good service. We felt like home from the first moment. The location couldn't be better with a lots of fantastic restaurants and shops in the neighbourhood . Yes we will be back at this hotel next time we are in BA. Thank you so much :)Stephanie S, Miami, USA / November 2013
Our experience at the Poetry Building was beyond words, the staff, owner, personnel all went above and beyond their call of duty to attend to our every need and wish. We were a large party attending an "Argentine wedding" who luckily even got a serenade for the bride from her room overlooking their beautiful internal patio, fountain and all. You're lucky if you get the room on the first with access to two outdoor patios, complete with singing birds that stop by every morning and all. This is not a hotel, so do not expect a hotel, expect something different and special just as the specialty lodging suggests. An immense thank you to the wonderful team at poetry, the owner who made the experience completely worthwhile, and even the incredible building an decorations which have all the character in and of themselves.Tongi, Melbourne, Australia / November 2013
An apartment hotel - the autonomy of an apartment, with the security and service of a building concierge and reception staff during the day. This was the perfect solution for our needs on our first trip to BA. It's all been said ... great concept, stylish decor, great location, great service.
We stayed in the "junior loft", which was stylish and spacious for a couple. We loved the feeling of having "a home" for our five nights in BA, particularly given I wasn't feeling 100% for some of our stay. And that's where the difference between good and great lies: the staff booked an appointment with a local doctor, gave me tips on help I could get at pharmacies and were concerned without being intrusive. They were incredibly kind.
Like so many other reviewers, we found the staff incredibly professional, from the time of making our reservation to when we shut the front door to leave for the airport. It was lovely just chatting to them. Our Spanish is bad, but they were all fluent in English.
We only really got a glimpse of BA during our short stay - and would love to return. I felt safe in this area, which is a residential neighbourhood. I had a handbag fixed at a leather-work shop one minute away; we had washing done at a laundry 30 secs away; we posted postcards (how old fashioned) from the post office 1 min away; we shopped at the local supermarket and got great quality well-priced wine there; and we loved the local cafes and restaurants. Taxis were easy to get, and it's a short stroll to Santa Fe for shopping and to Recoleta for its sights.
I have to note that I have NEVER seen guest information of the calibre that Poetry provides - it is AMAZING and has so much genuinely thoughtful information and advice. These people REALLY understand what travellers want and need. When I made the reservation I found the website most helpful and accurate in its depiction of the accommodation and services available.
Poetry is a great concept, wonderfully well executed. We loved it, and would return and recommend - ABSOLUTELY.
From when we were met at the airport our stay was perfect. We stayed in a one bed apartment on the ground floor. Huge by hotel standards and beautifully furnished. The iPod loaded with lovely tunes was a nice touch. Very close to recoleta cemetery and the arts and craft fair. A nice touch was the email I received a few days before our stay with things to do during our stay. The staff were very courteous and spoke excellent English. Thanks for a wonderful stayTravelerSLM, Chicago, Illinois, USA / October 2013
We loved our stay at the Poetry Building!! Our apartment was lovely, airy, and very clean. We enjoyed the benefits of an apartment by having a terrace, kitchen and living room and also the pluses of a hotel by having a concierge, staff and good security. Everybody there from the owner to the cleaning staff went out of their way to ensure that all residents enjoyed a trouble-free stay. The location was ideal...we had restaurants, cleaners, grocery stores, bakeries, etc. just down the street. We even took tango lessons around the corner.
We stayed in one of the penthouse apartments, but were able to view some of the others in between occupants. The apartments are all lovely! I would advise just looking at the photos on the website and making a selection based on how important having a terrace is or how you feel about climbing stairs to a loft space.
All in all, we were completely satisfied and hope to return next year!
We stayed at Poetry October 7-14 in duplex 2D. We liked it a lot. Apartment is beautifully decorated. It has eclectic style where old items tastefully fused with modern ones. Very nice and cozy place! I would take it over fancy hotel any time. Place is clean and bed is very comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice for a quick breakfast from meats and cheeses purchased night before in the supermarket (around the corner). Lobby is very nice too. Internet connection was strong and quick. We also enjoyed interacting with very nice and helpful staff. They take time to explain things and provide guidance. Excellent experience with staff at Poetry. This is also true with all Argentines we met during our visit - warm people. Great experience. Thank you!Homebeijing, China / September 2013
We took 7 apartments for over 1 week and can't comment highly enough on this lovely property.
So many lovely, thoughtful details. Local mobile phones, wine, coffee, tea etc and even ipods loaded with music.
Clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable beds and very secure.
Taxi's easily available and a wonderful patisserie around the corner for breakfast.
Every apartment is different, some bigger then others. We booked through an agency but would definitely recommend going straight to Poetry apartments.
The staff at Poetry were so helpful, caring and friendly.
Thank-you Poetry for making our 50th Birthday celebration perfect!
My husband and I just returned from a two-week stay in Buenos Aires and our stay in apartment 3B of the Poetry Building was outstanding. Of course, we had high expectations given the great reviews but they were met and we were totally pleased with our stay. Our stay in the Poetry Building was better than a hotel because of the large and very beautiful apartment, plus the kitchen for tea and breakfast but the apartment was also better than a vacation rental because of the extremely helpful staff. They provide really excellent cafe and restaurant recommendations both in the neighborhood, and in other parts of the city. We had a great time in Buenos Aires, loved the apartment and highly recommend it.Eddie T, London, UK / August 2013
We spent four nights here during our honeymoon. The building is in a great location near plenty of great restaurants, supermarkets, nice cafe round the corner and a great
bakery not two doors down.
The apartment itself was recently decorated to a very high standard, well appointed and with a nice balcony. The extra touches to the room were especially welcome: an ipod stereo fully loaded with music, a mobile phone on a local network that you could use and a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee machine (with coffee!)
We were given a very warm welcome, with a nice bottle of Malbec waiting for us in the apartment. Generally the staff were extremely helpful organising a trip to see the football and giving us advice on other potential trips.
Staying in a serviced apartment like this was a welcome break from being in a hotel and made a great base for us to explore Buenos Aires
Very safe and beautiful location in the city - Recoleta. Staff is excellent and you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. We were there for a week and it was a great accommodation for our needs. Subway is within a 10 min walk and taxis can be found right outside the door. Would recommend the pick up from the airport if you're a first timer - especially if you don't speak much Spanish. Very highly recommended.20ALINE, BARRA GRANDE, BRAZIL / AUGUST 2013

A privacidade é total. Certamente me hospedarei de novo aqui.NYCtravelboy, New York, USA / June 2013
First time visitor to Buenos Aires. Choosing to stay at Poetry is a perfect choice. The apartment was spacious and clean; location perfect and staff second to none. They provide amazing service and all speak English. If you are traveling to BA, do yourself a favor and book here. I look forward to returning.Edilson K, Curitiba, Brazil / June 2013
Meu amigo ficou hospedado aqui e pude conhecer o hotel.. A localização é excelente.PrimulaCL, Santiago de Chile, Chile / May 2013
Sn0wySydney, Sydney, Australia / May 2013
It was lovely staying in a serviced apartment that had style and comfort. The staff were great in helping us arrange activities and provide knowledgable advice. There was a lovely cafe for breakfast 1 minute walk from front door and a supermarket less than 5 minutes away. Cannot recommend highly enough.Dan O, Shangai, China / April 2013
I could not have been happier with my recent stay at Poetry. There’s a certain elegance and refined taste embodying this building, that’s noticed right from the start beginning with the façade and lobby’s interior decor. I stayed in 2 different apartments, both exquisite. And little details like a complimentary bottle of Argentine wine upon entry, an iPod and docking station stocked with a wonderful wide-ranging selection of music, and access to a local mobile phone (easily charged with credit at my own expense) all went a long way. I also had a private rooftop terrace with one of the rooms, which was a beautiful place to catch up with an old friend over wine, some quiet music and conversation as some of the nights wound down.
There’s so much to love about Buenos Aires’ many different neighborhoods, but I personally can’t think of a better location to stay in than this. Recoleta, and this particular part of it, have a spectacular range to offer in the way of restaurants, cafes, wine shops, designer stores, parks, beautiful tree lined streets, the Cemetery, etc, all within walking distance. And if you’re planning on exploring many different areas like Palermo, San Telmo etc, it’s hard to find a place more central than this. BA continues to evolve in wonderful ways, but to me Recoleta will probably always represent and capture the city’s quintessential charm in a way that no other neighborhood can.
Finally, the staff at Poetry are all very engaging, knowledgeable and professional people. It’s made up of both expats and locals, so you can get a city perspective from either angle depending on what you’re looking for. You’ll be given a comprehensive list of tips about the city when you enter the room that they spent a lot of time putting together (which is a lovely summary guide and another nice perk about staying here) – if you need more, just ask them. I think you’d be hard pressed to find another group with better ideas on how to take advantage of BA, or better service. This is a truly special place.
Nada! Tem muitos armários (couberam, todas as nossas roupas - 3 mulheres), sapatos, objetos de higiene pessoal. A cama é enormeeeee e mega confortável! Jdrel, Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires, Argentina / April 2013
Stayed in 1B at Poetry Building and could not be happier with it. This place has everything - its absolutely beautiful from the architecture to the decor, and the amenities and location cannot be beat. I would recommend this for anyone looking for an apartment stay in Buenos Aires!Jud H, Pownal, Maine, USA / April 2013
We just spent three weeks here at the Poetry Building and considered our time here one of the highlights of our first visit to Argentina. Located in an elegant restored mansion, our beautifully decorated apartment included a private balcony and was fully equipped. When we arrived, we found beautiful flowers, a personal guide of staff recommendations for things to do and places to eat in Buenos Aires, and a bottle of delicious Malbec from Mendoza to welcome us. We cannot say enough about the staff - very knowledgable, warm, and accommodating - always eager to go out of their way to help us whether it be getting tickets to a destination, finding the best transportation, or helping us with our meager Spanish. The location is safe and convenient to shopping, food, bus lines, and interesting sites. We hate to leave, but we will be back.Kansha, Paris, France / March 2013

Marie F, Oakville, Canada / February 2013
My husband and I really enjoyed staying in a one bedroom apartment. Lazy coffee and breakfast 'at home' after a late night of dinning and strolling thru BA. Small, nicely equipped kitchen, shopping nearby. Comfortable sitting room with doors that open up to a quiet courtyard where we enjoyed early evening wine and cheese, listened to great music (they even provide a fully loaded MP3) as we surfing through Trip Advisor to select the next restaurant. Quiet, super comfortable and fun decor. Bed was great. If you are a business traveler that tires of the 'hotel' scene, you are likely to appreciate this alternative.VanesOliveira, Curitiva, Parana, Brazil / February 2013

Felt like we lived as locals in a chic apartment in the heart of Recoleta. Attention to detail and customer service for every part of our stay. Even things we hadn't thought of like a mobile phone with local sim which you can prepay across the street. list of markets and restaurants we used as our bible. Would stay again and again.Ellross, Hillsdale, NJ, USA / January 2013
My husband and I have been to Buenos Aires a few times before and thought this time wanted to try and apartment to feel like part of a neighborhood, instead of part of a hotel.
After doing some research and reading reviews we settled on this property.
First of all the location is wonderful. It's a short walk to the Recoleta Cemetary area but far enough away so you aren't surrounded by tourists. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, bakery, a great pizza place. Looking for shopping? You're close to Sante Fe for that as well.
We chose a one bedroom, 4B. It was lovely with an updated kitchen, bathroom and balcony.
We were on the same floor as the pool which was lovely.
The room was very quiet.
Also, the internet was flawless! That was important as I do some work while I'm on the road as a travel agent.
As many have mentioned the staff is wonderful.
If you are looking for a smaller place that is more personal and relaxed, you don't have to look any further than the Poetry Building.
My husband and I and two female friends stayed 5 nights in Room 2C. This was our second trip to BA, so we had other accommodations to compare this to. These were far superior. In this hot season, we thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop dipping pool and A/C, with the option to open beautifully grand windows in the cooler mornings and evenings. We used the kitchen for morning meals, which was very convenient. Generally, the apartment had equal parts charm and modern amenities. All of the furnishings were lovely, clean and comfortable. The shower gets hot, and with decent pressure, if you need it. There were local plug adapters, iPhone charger and a pay-as-you-go cell phone provided. The wifi was a plus. We found the staff to be very helpful and attentive, as well as bilingual (Sp/Eng). The location was superb and safe, with cafes, pastry shops and food markets within easy walking distance. Value, location and ability to accommodate 4 adults were our main reasons for booking this space, and Poetry met these goals. We look forward to staying with them again!Njudah, San Francisco, California, USA / December 2012
I've been to BA twice, and have stayed at Poetry Building both times - and will do so again when I return. The rooms are large, well designed and very comfortable, the location is great, and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. I was staying as part of large group, so I was able to see a good selection of the rooms - I was impressed with how thoughtfully and uniquely designed they were. I've been able to stay in wonderful hotels around the world, and for value, Poetry may be the best.Ilaria R, Geneva, Switzerland / December 2012
Safe, calm, clean, spacious, charming and great hospitality.
Fantastic breakfast place around the corner, central enough to walk to the main attractions.
This place is great and worth staying as a great base to visit around. It does offer spacious rooms and the possibility to cook, if you have to stay more than a day, you can have some breathing space which you won't get in most hotels.
They have a beautiful common terrace and a outdoor pool on the 4th floor.
I travel a lot on business and have stayed in lots of luxury hotels. Poetry was a lot more - a kind of home. The size of the bath room was quite sufficient for me and my wife. The location was wonderful, close to everything we are interested in. A lot to see and do within walking distance.
Clean, adequate and as I said like a home. The staff was most helpful and knowlegeable and really helped us a lot; the guys made us feel at home in BA. They sent a car to collect us from the air port which was a blessing after the long flight, they made bookings, recommended restaurants, tango classes...you name it.
And when we left, very early in the morning the bell boy was like a "hawk" taking care of our luggage and safety. He stood by our luggage while we waited...what a gentleman.
If you want to feel safe and make it easy for you, this is your place. They collect you from the airport, take you to the hotel which is located in one of the nicest and safest areas of BA and you get a lot for your money.
Thank you Poetry; we are planning to come back to our Buenos Aires home (Poetry) when it gets cold in Finland.
My husband and I have just arrived home after a fantastic honeymoon. Our travels included several nights in Buenos Aires. At first I wasn't sure where to stay in Buenos Aires.. there is so much to choose from... but Recoleta and the Poetry building... was the perfect choice.
The property is beautiful. Rooms beautifully decorated. We especially loved room 1C. Recoleta is a nice neighbourhood. You can walk to dinner, the cemetery, shopping .. and pretty much everything else is a 15 minute cab ride away.
The best part of our stay here was the staff. Thank you so much to Brent & Ken for their warm welcome when we arrived late. Everyone who works at the Poetry is so helpful. Thank you also to the ladies (so many names to remember) for helping us arrange our activities. You made our visit to Buenos Aires extra special.
This is our fourth time in Buenos Aires and our third stay at the Poetry Building. Travel nowadays can be challenging at best and it feels so wonderful to arrive at our home away from home in Buenos Aires and just relax and enjoy this wonderful city. The staff always offer a warm welcome and are so helpful in arranging any dinner, transport or any other requests before arrival ensuring a stress free vacation. Our favorite apartment is 4B as it is very spacious and beautifully furnished and has a very well equipped kitchen and a wonderful terrace. This is such a wonderful and safe location and it seems everything you might need is right around the corner, theres even a fish store nearby in case you overdose on the incredible Argentinian beef. And did we mention safe? We have walked home many a night way past 5:00 am, something one would never attempt and survive to tell about in Miami. There are many great places to eat nearby. For breakfast treats don't miss the bakery next door. Thank you Brent, Rocio, Irina and Angel for making us feel so at home ... su casa es como mi casa!Coco3000, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA / October 2012
Just returned from a fantastic stay at the Poetry. We stayed in 2 B & enjoyed every minute of it!it is perfectly located in Recoletta with amazing little bakeries & shops. The building is exceptionally well restored with loving care & is very safe. The staff could not have been more helpful, the welcome bottle of wine & fruits, the beautiful decor, nice rooftop terrace with pool, makes you feel at home. The owner went out of his way to help us & we greatly appreciated it!Thank you for making our stay in Buenos Aires a very memorable one.Do not hesitate to stay here, you will not regret it.TrekBear, Cairns, Australia / October 2012
I don't think a rating of 5/5 does justice to just how wonderful an experience it was to stay at Poetry! I had very high expectations following reading the reviews on tripadvisor and I am pleased to report that my expectations were exceeded.
The location of the building is ideal. It is in the heart of recoleta, just a few blocks away from the cemetery and a major shopping street. It is an easy walk to palermo and the microcentre, but recoleta was by far my favourite neighbourhood due to its beautiful buildings and character.
The building itself is spectacular and represented well on the website. We stayed for a week - 3 nights in 2B and 4 nights in 2A. They were both beautiful rooms, with 2B being particularly special due to its finishes, personal touches and attention to detail.
The rooms were very clean, showers great and beds very comfortable. Personal touches like an iPod prefilled with music, mobile phone to use when in
buenos aires, coffee machine with ground coffee, basket of fresh fruit and complimentary bottle of wine really helped to make the stay special. The unique styling of each room was greatly appreciated.
The reception staff were really outstanding in offering advice about how to get around the city. They were able to order cars for us to get to a show and the airport. A complimentary map and information of the local area with handy tips was really helpful in orientating us and planning. The staff were genuine and eager to help.
The price was exceptionally reasonable for what was offered. I really liked the self contained style and privacy of the building. I would love to return!
Thank you Poetry for making our stay in BA so memorable and enjoyable. You have done an excellent job with Poetry Building. It was the perfect place for us to stay in so many ways. Location is great (why would you stay anywhere other than Recoleta), the building is beautifully appointed, the facilities are superb right down to the provision of a local cell phone etc etc etc. But mostly, your staff! They were all fantastic. They were so wonderful and obliging. Nothing was a problem and everything was handled efficiently and always with the most beautiful of smiles.
If you prefer the independence of your own apartment as I do when travelling, the Poetry Building is as good as I have found anywhere. Try it, I'm sure you'll love it.
We will return to Buenos Aires one day and when we do we'll be back to "our home in Recoleta"
Thank you so much for making our first visit to your wonderful city so easy and so memorable.
Poetry building is a fantastic place! Spacious & clean rooms.
Surprisingly quiet despite being near busy streets.
Much less costly than a major chain hotel and very friendly.
You can walk almost everywhere & it's near the subway.
This was my first time in Buenos Aires and having chosen the Poetry building to stay was an excellent choice. The rooms are excellent, the neighborhood is charming, but the most exceptional was how helpful everybody in the Poetry building was. Would certainly come again.Marcela Man, Saladillo, Buenos Aires / July 2012
Diane M, Quincy, Florida, USA / June 2012
I loved my stay at Poetry! The accommodations were first rate. Both the common areas and apartments had wonderful art works and antiques which lent a great ecclectic vibe to the spaces. Everything was scrupulously clean, of course, and the staff was very helpful and gracious but totally unobtrusive. I highly recommend a stay at The poetry Building!Jody S, Toronto, Canada / February 2012
We stayed in two different places in BA on separate legs of the trip. Poetry Building was by far our favorite.
First, it's not a hotel so don't expect all the services of a hotel, but it's in a great location, with wonderful cafes right around the corner, good restaurant options, a relatively short walk to Recoleta cemetery and the mall. The neighborhood is also quite safe, even after dark.
The rooms were very well-appointed, clean, and the price was impossible to complain about. If you're staying in Buenos Aires, definitely consider staying here vs a hotel. It's a charming place and a good base for sight-seeing.
If your time in Buenos Aires is limited, definitely stay in Recoleta vs Downtown or Palermo soho. I was pretty underwhelmed with Palermo soho, which is where we stayed during the second leg of our trip, after coming back from Patagonia and iguazu.
We had a beautifully decorated one bedroom apartment with double pained windows to keep out all street sounds. There is a small deck with chairs and a table to watch the passing street life The apartment number 3 was very large with dining room, living room with comfortable pull out couch and a well functioning kitchen. The bedroom has a door separating it from the living room so it is great for a family. The staff were very helpful and responded quickly to all requests. The neighborhood has many cafes and stores and restaurants within a few block radius.Kellycb, Sao Paulo, Brazil / September 2011
This is a very nice place to stay in Bs As (Buenos Aires, as the porteños call it).
Recoleta is a perfect place to stay at. Close to some touristic attractions, but most important is that you can feel the porteños way of living staying at this neighborhood. You can walk during day or night, find nice cafes and restaurants around...
Poetry is a quiet and nice building with apartments. Very clean, comfortable and very well decorated. You have a cell phone and an I Pod waiting for you in your room!!
If you want to slowly wake up in the morning, you can prepare your own breakfast with bread you find in many many delicious bakeries around... There a fully equiped kitchen also waiting for you.
Well, there is absolutely nothing to complain about this place. The staff is very nice and helped us with many tips about the city. I would not just go back to this place but also highly recommend it to any one that is going to Buenos Aires.
ArgyBargy, Toronto, Canada / July 2011
I recently traveled to Argentina to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday in Puerto Madryn. I stayed at the Poetry Building in loft 1B for four nights at the end of my trip. The experience was top notch from the planning stages to my actual stay.
The apartment was absolutely gorgeous, very well appointed, decorated and elegant. It was the perfect place for me as I was able to entertain family and friends whom I hadn't seen in many years.
The location was great, so close to Santa Fe Ave. The bed was amazing and the apartment was very well equipped for a short stay.
The service by the Poetry staff was immaculate. A big thank you to Jimena and Yanina for addressing all my needs and inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
This is a great alternative for travelers who like boutique hotels without the huge price tag. Do not hesitate and book right away!! You will be glad you did.
Looking forward to staying here for my next trip.
We bookended our South American trip with a stay at the Poetry Building and after four weeks in Brazil, returning to the Poetry Building was like coming home!
We endorse all the good things that have already been said - will be recommending this property to everyone travelling to BA.
We particulary loved:
* the 'information package' we received on arrival which included favourite restaurants - we worked our way through quite a few on the list and loved them all!
* well equipped kitchen with supermarket just around the corner made cooking the occasional meal very easy
* the location - within walking distance of everything. (Taxis are abundant if wet or short of time and the subway is a short walk and easy to use. The bus system is not so easy to work out but an adventure if you have the time!)
* the beds - heavenly and hard to get out of!
Thanks to Brent, Jimena and the team for helping make our stay in BA so memorable!
Look no further, book now!
I honestly can't speak highly enough of our stay at the Poetry Building. I guess the fact that we already booked our second trip speaks volumes. Without a doubt, Brent and his team have set a new and very high standard for apartment rentals in Buenos Aires. This building has been beautifully renovated; the suites are elegant, comfortable and quiet and in a perfect location for exploring BAs. Each suite is unique and even nicer than it appears on the website. If you are looking for a high standard self-catering apartment with plenty of space, the Poetry Building offers exceptional value. The decor is funky, the furnishings top quality, the beds exceptionally comfortable, the kitchens generously stocked with necessities and the indoor and outdoor areas kept clean and well-maintained. Having the small rooftop plunge pool is a real bonus: it's a lovely spot to sit and relax after a day of urban hiking.
Since we started spending our Februarys in Buenos Aires six years ago, we have booked apartments through several different rental companies companies. Some are better than others but we've consistently had difficulty tracking down off-site management to quickly resolve problems. Brent, and his assistant Jimena, run a very professional operation. As they are based in the building, they are available to answer questions, solve any problems and they go the extra mile to ensure their guests have a perfect vacation.
We have stayed at several apartments in Poetry. We love the people who work in the office - they are always helpful with booking supper reservations and booking cars. We have stayed here 4 times now - and have stayed in 3 different apartments. They all have something special. All have both modern features (such as ipod music, tv, iron, small kitchen) and some unique structural or design details. It is the perfect location for exploring the city and for feeling like you live there. We have stayed at other apartments and have had to wait hours for keys etc. Never here. Personally we enjoy Recoletta more than Palermo and enjoy the quaintness of Poetry over other places, such as 4 Seasons that we have stayed at in BA. For the money, you cannot do better!Vit, Toronto, Canada/ June 2011
As a travel who prefers a degree of self-sufficiency not afforded by most conventional hotel rooms, Poetry was perfect for my needs. I stayed for a week in a studio a fully-equipped kitchen with quality appliances, a comfortable bed and a lovely terrace where I often ate a lunch of empanadas purchased from an excellent bakery three doors away. The location is excellent, near to the major shopping street Santa Fe and within walking distance of the famous cemetery, the major art galleries, Teatro Colon and even Plaza de Mayo and San Telmo, if the weather is nice and you have the ambition for it. Plenty of great places to eat, at all price points, within walking distance too. The staff is gracious, knowledgeable and helpful. First rate in every sense.Emilia, New York, USA/ April 2011
What a well suited name for this truly beautiful place... Not only the staff is extraordinarily warm, friendly, and always ready and eager to help with anything from advice, suggestions to any requests, but the apartments are furnished and decorated with so much taste, style and charm, the amenities offer everything that you might need on your trip (even an iPod to use while there for example with the best music selection or a book to pick up reading if you find the time, and what great choices!), and last but not least, this place just has a beautiful atmosphere and it's truly special and unique. I felt so at home right away, a new and indulgent home, offering a sense of security, coziness and luxury. The location just couldn't be better - the surrounding area has incredible places for eating out whether it's a late morning breakfast, a quick (if there is such a thing in Buenos Aires) lunch, a coffee and dessert afternoon stop or a great dinner. Bakeries, grocery stores, ice cream shops (if you plan on watching what you eat, just don't go there, it's impossible), bank machines, a liquor store... all within a couple of blocks reach. If you are planning on indulging in the best that BsAs has to offer, this is the place. I feel so fortunate to have found it and met Jimena, Janina, Brent, Pablo and Angel. Thank you all for a magical visit... I can't wait to come back and see you all later this year!Joshua, Atlanta, USA / March 2011
My brother and I stayed at the Poetry Building for a week in March 2011. The apartment was spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed. I was impressed by many of the little touches. The building staff was terrific in helping us with anything we needed, from directions to recommendations to arranging transportation. The building is both beautiful and comfortable. It was a great place to relax and a great base to explore. The neighborhood is fantastic in its own right (including a great bakery several doors down) and is an easy walk to many sights. It's a great value that is extremely well run and deserves an excellent rating.Kim, Salt Lake City, USA/ February 2011
We stayed in two apartments in the historic Poetry Building. Each apartment had high ceilings and french doors opening on to little balconies. The apartments were newly-designed using modern elements such as loft space or glass partitions. The furnishings were a blend of antique and modern -- gracious old chandeliers, armoires, and mirrors, with modern accent furniture and contemporary artwork. The kitchens and bathrooms were beautiful and functional. The tv, dvd player, iPod, and cell phone all worked well. We spent time at the pool on the roof drinking coffee in the morning, sitting in the sun in the afternoon, and taking a dip in the evening. The staff is very generous with their knowledge, and helped us in ways we couldn't have imagined beforehand. The location is lovely with fruit stands, cafes, a grocery store, banks, and retail shopping within 3 blocks. We will absolutely stay there again if we travel to Buenos Aires.Michael, Florida, USA / January 2011
From the moment I made the reservations I just knew the Poetry Building would be a winner and there was no disappointment when we checked in. We were greeted by Jimena who for the next 11 days was our eyes on the city ready with the map to show us where we needed to go , to make reservations for restaurants, arrange for transportation to and from the airport, and explain when we needed clarification. Our apartment was just as it was photographed and suited my partner and I perfectly. There was everything one needed to be completely comfortable and we were. The location could not have been better. Just a couple doors away was a great bakery, a couple of blocks away was a large grocery store fully stocked, and wonderful restaurants within 5 to 7 blocks serving everything from pizza, seafood, beef, and all good. Brent and his staff should be roundly thanked for creating such a wonderful place to enjoy such a great city. Once again thanks so very much.Miami, Florida, USA/ January 2011
For our second visit to Buenos Aires we choose the Poetry Building based on the reviews on Tripadvisor and the hotel's beautiful and informative website. We were not disappointed upon arrival ... WOW! The apartments are exquisite, even better than the photos, and the beautifully restored building is gorgeous as well. Everything is new and of the highest quality. From our initial reservation request until our departure the service was outstanding. The location could not be better with excellent stores and cafes literally just steps away. We often walked home from clubs and restaurants past 5:00 am feeling utterly safe. This upscale neighborhood is definetely the way to enjoy Buenos Aires like a porteno! Thank you so much Jimena, Brent and Angel for truly making us feel "Como en su casa" Gracias!Sara, Beverly Hills, USA/ December 2010
I can't begin to tell you how wonderful our stay was in Buenos Aires. I truly feel we owe so much to Brent for helping us organize our stay, and mostly -for such a fabulous apartment. Your pictures and descriptions do not do it justice!
We felt safe and hip by staying in what we found to be the best neighborhood in BA. So many restaurants, shops, friendly neighbors, etc. FYI: The bakery down the street was the best I have EVER been too (delicious and cheap) and I have been to many in Paris, nothing compares.
Having the cleaners across the street, the bars/pubs near by, the grocery store around the block... how can you beat it?
Staying (living) in Poetry was the experience I was looking for: safe, fun, clean, hip, great location, HONEST OWNERS, English speaking Televison, rooftop pool, all the amenities you could want (for example, a local cell phone during your visit- INCLUDED),.... I am overwhelmed by the owners desire to make our stay perfect, which i was by 10 fold.
I never feel compelled to write reviews, but this time I must! My BA experience made me realize life again, and I wouldn't change a bit.... I can't wait to come back, tell all my friends and family, and potentially move there. I was sad to leave.
One other thing I would like to point out....when you are planning a trip from abroad, you must feel safe in who you are dealing with, with Brent... we did. He was quick to respond, always available, and made the whole "booking long distance" a very easy and simple transaction. I never felt I had to worry.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU.
The Poetry Building was phenomenal! The building was just recently renovated and the owner did a fantastic job of restoring the historic charm and at the same time updating it with a flare of modern beauty! There is no question that I would stay at the Poetry Building again! The location was great in historic Recoleta and safe. Staff was very friendly and willing to help. This place is a must stay for the price!!!Marcos, Madrid, Spain / November, 2010
I spend my life traveling, visiting gorgeous hotels and wonderful countries, so I may say I am very picky when selecting a place to stay. After spending loooong time looking in the internet for a place to stay in Buenos Aires, I discovered this lovely building that did not seem to have a lot of advertising. Their website already gave me a good idea about the place and Tripadvisor helped me to think seriously about booking a room. The location was exactly where I wanted to be (in Recoleta), so... I went ahead and called to make a booking. I was taken care by Jimena, a very professional, friendly and smiling person!
When I arrived... I was totally "WOWED"!! I wasn't expecting such a nice place, great design and very clean! There is a mobile provided for your stay in Buenos Aires (you just need to top up the card across the street) and even an iPod dock with a pre-loaded iPod!! The bathroom was very clean, water very hot (temperature and pressure constant). There was an adorable terrace for having breakfast and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a small swimming pool on the 4th floor. And the bed... the bed... SUPER comfortable! The selection of TV channels is great and there is even a DVD player!
I really loved Poetry building and I can only recommend you to stay there! So... don't hesitate!
My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at this apartment- a spacious (700-800 sq ft) and fully furnished brick wall-facaded design with living room, kitchen and two bedroom areas, one of them a loft (with flat-screen TV) which partially overlooked the areas below. Our queen-sized mattress was firm and comfortable and the kitchen appliances were modern and conveniently arranged. Our 2nd floor quarters allowed easy access by elevator to main floor offices and exits, and to other apartment facilities, including an outdoor minipool and sunbathing area on the 4th floor (of 6 floors). A "supermarket" and internet - telephone outlet were located nearby, as were other tourist sites (e.g. cemetary with Eva Peron's crypt ). Taxi's were ubiquitous and easily hailed for more distant destinations. Apartment staff spoke English fluently, were courteous and very helpful with respect to site-seeing, shopping and other matters of interest. All this for a very reasonable price. In a nutshell, a wonderful bargain and experience...Thomas and Natalie, London, UK / October, 2010

Brent & Staff at the Poetry Building,
Thank you for making our stay in BA so wonderful. This was an amazing home away from home! We appreciate all of your help arranging day trips and dinner arrangements and everything else you did to make our stay great. Warmest thanks!
Everything was laid out in the information paper give to me at arrival, from everything that one would need in the local neighborhood, to restaurants and night life. Very well thought out. Wireless internet in the room. Cell phone with local number. There was nothing left to imagine. Job well done! I am in the Travel Business and will recommend Poetry to all of my clients and friends.Ollie, Sydney, Australia / October, 2010
We recently had nine nights at the Poetry during our first trip to Buenos Aires and were completely happy with our choice.
First, the location is perfect - cafes, restaurants, shopping on Santa Fe. Walk to the Cemetery, to the wonderful MALBA, the two fabulous National Museums. We also walked to Palermo Soho in one direction, and to San Telmo in the other, and to Puerto Madero - but we do like to walk!
Next, the apartments - they are exactly as shown on the website - stylish, interesting, clean, good quality white sheets and towels, well fitted kitchens, great spaces inside and out. We had 6 nights in 4A and 3 in 5B.
And the staff? Perfect! Friendly helpful advice by email from Jimena before we arrived, charming reception from Pablo on our arrival (despite our lack of language skills), and friendly, helpful advice from Jimena and Brent during office hours.
Would we stay again - absolutely!
I was treated well from the time of booking until I was returned to the airport at the end of my stay. The staff made every effort to ensure my three weeks in Buenos Aires was comfortable, safe, and fully enjoyable. The building is situated smack in the middle of the bustling centre, but tucked away on a quiet side street. I was able to walk or take transit to many of the sites and locations where many visitors would spend time. The bakery, tea shops and resetaurants are all within walking distance and are full of charm. The grocery store is on the next block for those planning to stock up the fridge. I can't wait to return, and I recommend it to all of my colleagues, friends and family.Mandarina,_studio, Massachusetts, US / August, 2010
We stayed at the Poetry for 12 nights in July/August 2010 and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. This was our first trip to Buenos Aires and we found the property to be perfectly located - situated between Recoleta & Barrio Norte; an elegant neighborhood that is convenient and centrally located, a 10 minute walk to the Recoleta Cemetery. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby, an excellent bakery a few doors down (see more info and pictures on my blog link below).
As an interior designer, I am extremely particular about the architecture, design and furnishings of a space and chose the Poetry based on the beautiful photos shown on their website. Thankfully, the photos accurately represent the property and I loved the design - contemporary mixed with some antique pieces. We wanted to stay in a larger duplex but one was not available for our entire stay so we stayed in Studio 1D for the first 3 nights and then moved to Duplex 2C for the remaining 9 nights. Both were lovely, comfortable and provided a good amount of space for a couple. The studio had an outdoor space with a dining table/seating for 4 which we would have used if the weather had been warmer. The duplex was much bigger with soaring ceilings and bedroom upstairs but did not have an outdoor space - this didn't matter for our stay since the winter weather was a bit chilly - we were happy to have the bigger space.
The owner, Brent, is very nice and will gladly make recommendations about the city for shopping and/or restaurants if asked. Jimena, the lovely young woman who is responsible for guest services, was extremely helpful with trip plans including Tango shows, restaurant and days trips suggestions both via email before our arrival and during our stay. Their office is on the ground floor and they are available during business hours to answer questions or help with reservations if needed. The building super, Pablo, lives on-site should you need anything outside of business hours. All of the staff were wonderful.
There is no business center but free wi-fi in all apartments. We didn't bring our laptops but it was pretty convenient to check email at the place across the street. No fitness center but there is a Megatlon a couple blocks away that offers day/week passes as well as a few other less expensive gyms in the area. Megatlon week pass is priced fairly but the day pass is overpriced.
We had a great time in Buenos Aires and a wonderful stay at the Poetry Building. Highly recommend!
Dear Brent, Jimena & Poetry Staff,
We had a great stay- the building is beautiful, the location great and staff is wonderful. We will highly recommend Poetry and hope to visit again. Thank you, Best.
We stayed in the penthouse for 7 nights in August and had a lovely time. The building is located in a great part of Recoleta, extremely safe, very convenient. We rarely planned for dinner ahead of time as there are easily enough restaurants within walking distance in the area. Additionally there are a number of small grocery stores nearby where you can pick up anything you might need for the week. We found this especially handy as there were a few nights where we felt that we literally couldn't walk another block that day.
Also within walking distance is Av. Santa Fe, which is great for shopping, and the Recoleta cemetery isn't far either. Brent, the owner, is very helpful and even gave us directions to the flea market where he'd bought some of the light fixtures in the building, it turned out to be far better shopping than what we had experienced in San Telmo.
The building itself is beautiful, Brent obviously has very good taste. We particularly enjoyed having the patio on the top floor, it was great for relaxing in the evenings, even though it was fairly cold at night. Highly recommend this place for an enjoyable stay in BA.
Spent a heavenly week here in June…spectacular quality and attention to detail…top notch kitchen appliances, sharp knives, great coffee maker, mugs, pans, spices, etc….excellent selection of ipod music, cell phone, TV, cozy comforter and bedding, etc…tastefully and elegantly decorated…amazing, amazing, amazing!!
Enjoyed lazy mornings on the balcony with pastries from the bakery a few doors down and fresh coffee, wine on the private terrace snuggled under a blanket with candles lit, etc. etc...after sightseeing, we spent a lot of time in the apartment because it was so immaculate and cozy.
Recommendations: no need to do much research on restaurants - we had the best time just stumbling upon FANTASTIC little spots while wandering the city. if you like to run we'd recommend the reserva ecologica - great 5 mile loop. enjoy!!!
My husband, my 89 year old handicapped mother and I stayed in the one bedroom apartment. Brent was wonderful as was Pablo the concierge. The apartment was beautiful and well appointed and if we needed anything, Pablo lived in the building and was happy to help. He even made the extra bed for my mother. The location is great, close to the shopping street of Santa Fe and the museums but safe to walk during the day and night. That was important with 'mom' along. We will stay here every time we pass through Ba.LOZ, PORT DOUGLAS, AUSTRALIA / JUNE, 2010
People must only experience Buenos aires one way - by staying at 1280 Junin in Recoletta. The apartment had all the class and elegance that this amazing city has. It's one of the few cities we've been too that we can say without a doubt that we could live in, and its all because of this apartment. A stylish, beautifully appointed apartment in a fabulous location, managed by a fantastic team in Brent and Yanina. Thanks to all for a memorable stay - its not a matter of if we'll be back, but when!!SPRING LAKE TOURISTS, CANADA / JUNE, 2010
We enjoyed our stay in this loft from April 25 - May 2/10.
This loft was absolutely what we had hoped for. It was meticulously clean, had all of the emenities we needed, it's location was great. They provided us with a list of great restuarants and thigs to see and do - all of which were extremely helpfull and accurate. After our one week stay, we moved to the Four Seasons in BA for a conference, and although that was an excellent hotel, it certainly felt like we took a step down.
All in all, I highly recommend this facility and this host.
Thanks Brent, you made our trip to BA very enjoyable.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can't say it enough!!!! 5 STARS!!!
My husband and I recently visited Buenos Aires for 3 weeks and decided to rent an apartment instead of reserving a hotel because of our length of stay. It couldn't have worked out any better.
First of all, the loft in Recoleta was AMAZING. So much style and elegance and in the best neighborhood in BA. We felt so safe and welcomed by everyone. Brent, the owner/management company, was extremely professional and prompt (which is essential when planning a trip from afar) and followed through with every promise. The loft lived up to the pics and far exceeded our expectations. From the charm of the building, uniqueness of the loft and to the roof deck pool, we were highly impressed. Not only was the loft respectfully decorated and extremely clean and well maintained, but it had several amenities I did not expect. For example having a local cell phone to use during our visit, cable w/ many English speaking channels, fully equipped kitchen, daily maid service, cozy living room AND a separate cozy loft area, etc. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived.
And again, the neighborhood is the best that BA has to offer. Very safe and clean, and walking distance to several great historical sights, restaurants, coffee houses, markets, etc. (FYI:You have to try the bakery down the street. We went every day after our first visit. Best baked goods I've ever tasted.)
We also loved that we could leave for a 2-3 day trip throughout our stay without having to check-in/check-out and pack all our belongings. It was so convenient having our own apartment, I can't express that enough.
In other words, everything was perfect!!!! I am highly recommending your place to all my friends and family.
So again, I want to thank Brent and everyone for making our vacation a wonderful experience and leaving us with such fond memories. We wouldn't have changed a thing and will definitely be back....
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was well situated in Recolleta within walking distance to many restaurants. Brent and his staff were very welcoming and made some excellent recommendations for restaurants (7 Baco was my favorite) and places to go. The apartment itself was perfect with a modern kitchen, many balconies and terraces to choose from along with a swimming pool at our disposal. The apartment was clean and well maintained. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.PFINMTL, MONTREAL, CANADA / APRIL, 2010
These appartments are perfect, they are tastefully furnished, bright and roomy. They are in a perfect neighbourhood which has beautiful architechture, many facilties and great restaurants. It is also a good base to explore the rest of the city. The swimming pool is nice to relax after a day in the city heat. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all great value for money and a great alternative to a hotel for both vacationers and business people. Will definately be staying there again next time I am in Buenos Aires.KARA AND ANDREW, AUSTRALIA / APRIL, 2010
Brent, You are a gem and the apartment was divine. Thanks so much.WIND DIVA NAHANT, MA / APRIL, 2010
Being my second visit to the exciting city of Buenos Aires, I was a little more familiar with the neighborhoods and was very happy to find a place in Recoleta.
I can't say enough positive things about my entire experience staying in this property. From the staff, to the manager Brent, to the beautiful and safe apartments within the mansion, all were spectacular! I look forward to visiting again next year and staying in this beautiful property. I recommend any of the apartments, as they all have their own unique benefits and charm.
Brent and his staff were nothing but reliable, warm and professional during my entire stay. They receive high marks on all accounts!
We had a great time! This property is absolutely beautiful with a home-away-from-home feel to it. The apartment was tastefully decorated with all the perks - from IPod station with downloaded music, Flat screen TV, wine in the refrigerator. The managers were very helpful and accommodating. It is located in a great street with beautiful buildings (great architecture) and just about everything you can think of within walking distance. The best bakery is a few doors down. We love Buenos Aires, the people and a gorgeous place to vacation and live.....The experience had a very European feel to it....Loved it!!!SARA S., BEVERLY HILLS, UNITED STATUS / MARCH, 2010
My husband and I recently travelled to Buenos Aires on vacation for a month and rented a apartment at 1280 Junin. We were absolutely amazed and pleasantly surprised with all the wonder features of our apartment and the location.
Typically we tend to stay at the Four Seasons whenever we travel, however, because of our extended stay we decided to rent an apartment. This is the first time we've booked "site unseen" and couldn't have been more pleased. The location is the best in BA and soon after we felt like locals. Wandering to the bakery each morning, laundry service across the street, shopping at the local grocery store around the corner, and excellent restaurants all within walking distance. It was so clean, safe, charming and convenient.
The apartment itself was comfortable, cozy and full and class. Very stylish! It was fully furnished and had every amenity you could want, including a local cell phone. The management was very professional and delivered on every promise. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to all of my friends and family!
Thank you again for such a wonder stay, we can't wait to come back!!!
My wife and I recently traveled to BA and booked our stay using VRBO. The flat was stunning with amazing attention to detail, as if no expense was spared. Service and amenities were comparable to any luxury hotel. The flat included all the amenities you need, (wifi, local cell phone, cable, flat screen, AC, fully equipped kitchen, etc.) and was beautifully furnished. The building was quiet, clean, safe, with a great roof deck pool. Management was responsive and timely. The neighborhood was safe and charming with several restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, etc., all within walking distance. A true neighborhood feel. I highly recommend this property.SHEENJAMIN LOS ANGELES, CA / MARCH, 2010
My wife and I stayed at this location, in the suite, for our honeymoon and had the best of time. The apartment is gorgeous and well decorated. There is a very good view of the city where you can enjoy a glass of wine or two. The apartment is also well situated for visiting Buenos Aires. It is very close to both downtown and palermo, which are great for going out and eating. Brent, who runs the place, is a great guy, and he was extremely helpful with providing us information on the city, especially where to eat. All in all, it was a lovely experience, which we are looking forward to repeating.LOURDES C BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA / FEBRUARY, 2010
We had the best time in this property which is so centrally located. It felt like we were home away from home. The amenities were fantastic with an incredible dipping pool on the rooftop. We had access to the gym's and just about anything we needed within walking distance. The best "bakery" was a few doors down and what a nice treat. The area was very safe and gorgeous with the most beautiful architectural buildings in the Recoleta area. We appreciate the hospitality and attention the property managers provided during our stay.
We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an upscale experience.
We stayed in The Penthouse of The Mansion, AMAZING! We had 4 days there and loved it. The apartment was really comfortable and has a fun, eclectic mix of modern and antique furniture, very "Buenos Aires" looking. The apartment has loads of space and two great balconies, one for breakfast and a private terrace upstairs for sunbathing or just chilling out on the sofa and enjoying the night sky. Wifi and a big tv means you have all the entertainment you need (there’s an ipod dock which even comes with an ipod and music) and the kitchen has about eight of everything so you can cook for yourself and friends. The pool area outside is great by day and by night and a really good spot to cool off when it’s baking hot and humid. The location couldn’t be better, you are in Recoleta half way between "the city" and Palermo. Perfect, close to subways, and big avenues. We felt completely safe in this area, walking late in the streets and discovering amazing restaurants and cafes. HIGHLY recommended!JONLY LAFAYETTE, CA USA / FEBRUARY, 2010
My husband stayed for a week in this apartment. It was our home away from home with all the amenities you can think of: full kitchen, flat screen tv, iPod loaded with music and speakers, A/C, free wi-fi, and pool. The queen bed was medium-firm with cozy down comforters. Upstairs there is a large terrace with a day bed that is great for reading a book or just sipping some wine. Although there were modern appliances and electronics, the apt retained a sense of old world charm with tasteful chairs, and area rug on top of the hardwood floors. The apartment was very clean upon arrival and its condition is like new. It gets plenty of light during the day, but if you want to take a nap, just draw the floor to ceiling long drapes closed. Pack light, because there is a laundry facility just steps away that will wash and fold your clothes inexpensively. You just drop off in the morning and pick up before dinner. This was one of many tips from the gracious owners/managers of the building. They provided us with a list of their favorite restaurants which allowed us to eat at some amazing places that aren't necessarily mentioned in the travel guide books. Don't worry about bringing and electricity converter, as they have them there for you at no additional charge. They even let you borrow a cell phone that will work locally when you load it with so many minutes. Fortunately we used Skype thru our phone to call our kids every day for pennies. The apt. is centrally located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires--about a 5 minute walk from the famous Recoleta cemetery where Evita is buried. We enjoyed walking to a different neighborhood each day (Palermo Hollywood, Palermo Soho, Retiro, Centro, Barrio Norte) and enjoying food from one of the restaurants off the recommended list. Activities that are memorable in B.A. for us: watching a soccer game, shopping at an open market, seeing Tango performed in the street (usually at the open market), drinking malbec and eating incredible food, eating ice cream at Volta, sleeping in with no kids to cook for and seeing all the beautiful architecture throughout the City. What a wonderful place to visit! We'll definitely be back and will stay in the same place we did. It was a luxurious stay at a reasonable price.JOHN AND ANNA, MONTREAL,CANADA / JANUARY, 2010
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to BA. We especially enjoyed our stay at Brent's apartment. Brent and Jannina were wonderful. Their attention to details was really appreciated, especially the fresh flowers on our arrival. The apartment is new and tastefully furnished, the layout worked very well and the building's architecture, blended history with modern stainless and glass. The Results.... Spectacular! One of our best trips.
Brent, Yanina and Pablo! We offer you our compliment on this remarkable architectural accomplishment!
The talented blending of old with the new – excepted wonderfully.
These splendid surroundings added a unique charm to our stay in BA. Thank you Brent and Yanina for looking after the details so professionally.
We wish you success in this exciting venture. Let´s keep in touch.
We stayed in this unit during 2009 Xmas break. The apt is well furnished & tastefully done. The bedding, linen & sofa bed were of high quality & comfortable. It was perfect for our family of 4. Location is excellent & within walking distance to major attractions, restaurants & stores. This recently restored, charming building offered a quiet oasis after busy days of sightseeing. Brent & his team were professional & very service oriented. The provided pre-paid cell phone was useful to stay in touch with friends traveling with us. We highly recommend this apt & will use again when we return to Bs As.THE THORSONS, LAFAYETTE, CA / JANUARY, 2010
Brent and Yanina,
What an amazing gift for the weary traveller to find this home away from home! Thank you so much for your hospitality. 1280 Junin was truly special for us as our gateway to Buenos Aires and Argentina. Until we meet again we wish you warmest thoughts and best of wishes with everything.
Brent, Yanina and Pablo!
We were so lucky to have found such a beautiful place to stay in Buenos Aires! All of the suites we stayed in – each had something very special. The mix of new and old, the artwork, the furnishings – stunning.
It was really a home away from home. Thank you for such wonderful accommodations, and all your friendly smiles! We will miss Junin 1280 and all of you – although not for to long – we will be back. Besos! Best!
Fantastic apartment in a great location. In person, it looks exactly like the pictures (which is unusual). Lots of space, great light and furnishing, in a beautiful building. I highly recommend this property.
