OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR WELL BEING
Given our modest size, we have very little foot traffic. Our common areas include our lobby, our sundeck and dipping pool area, and our organic garden. We have set up occupancy limits in each area to promote social distancing and avoid any congestion. We do not have a common breakfast area as each apartment comes with its own full kitchen and eating area.
Once your stay begins, you can go from our front door and into your apartment without touching any surfaces. Our front door key allows you to enter the premises by inserting, turning, and pushing through the front door with the key in place. We have paper towel dispensers available at every elevator and common door. We ask that you pull out a paper towel and activate the elevator button with the paper towel between the button and your finger. As you exit each elevator, we ask that you discard the paper towel in the wastepaper bin as you exit. You can now enter each apartment via an RFID keyless pad or via Bluetooth on your cell phone.
Our lobby has outside natural air flow current which comports to current CDC guidelines.
We are pleased to announce our use of Poetry’s instant WhatsApp messaging service. Rather than coming down from your apartment to ask us a question, you can write us a message, send us a voice message, or even call us over voice or video. This system is encouraged for all guests that are currently staying with us and can also be accessed while you are wandering the streets of Buenos Aires. We can answer any questions you may have, make reservations, or send a car to pick you up. These messages are flashed across our screens and are answered as immediately as possible.
OUR STAFF PROTOCOL
All staff members have their temperature checked every day at the beginning of their shift. Assuming they test normal, they will be allowed to work. To date, we have no known members of our staff, their immediate family or circle of friends infected with the virus.
All Poetry personnel are required to wear protective masks when present in the common areas of our building. For the time being, this includes our front desk personnel as well as our cleaning and maintenance staff.
To further avoid congestion, we run most administrative duties with half of our staff at home, answering guest questions via WhatsApp and email.
PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL
We have always excelled at personal guest communication buy have now increased communication by email prior to avoid unnecessary face to face interaction.
Prior to each guest check-in, we disinfect all hard surfaces with special attention to every door knob, every light switch, every electrical socket. Our cleaning staff runs through a checklist with every apartment cleaning that includes disinfecting each but not limited to the following surfaces:
- All interior and exterior door handles
- Desks, tables, chairs and lamps
- Dresser drawer tops and handles
- Light switches and thermostats
- Drapery pull handles
- Remote controls and alarm clock
- Television
- Front door peephole
- Security safe box
- Trash receptacle touch points
- Iron handle, hangers, and luggage rack
- Faucet and toilet handles
- Freezer handles
- All kitchen utensils and appliances
- Hand washing sink handles
- Soap dispenser push plates
- Towel rack
- Trash receptacle touch points
- Cleaning tools
Remote controls are put in plastic bags to make cleaning more effective.
Our common areas are constantly maintained and include all common door knobs and elevator buttons. These are sanitized and cleaned multiple times a day.
Mattress coverings are always cleaned between guest visits, and the same set of pillows is never used for consecutive guest stays.
We strive to balance being welcoming but cautious.
CHECK-IN
We facilitate paperless check-in if desired. Prior to your arrival, we simply email you our credit card authorization form with the cost of your stay. Sign it, scan it, and email it back to us. This can avoid delay as well as the passing of paperwork. We simply ask that you show us your passport when checking in.
Before you enter our establishment, we ask that you use the alcohol dispenser located next to the front door to sanitize your hands each time before entering our premises. Additionally, there is an alcohol dispenser located at our front desk, and one as you exit the building. We are more than happy to disinfect your luggage upon check-in. Additionally, if there are items that you’ve purchased during your stay with us, we provide the service of disinfecting those items, free of charge.
If you prefer to check-in upon arrival rather than via email prior to your stay, you can do our normal check-in at our front desk with us behind a protective glass.
Your apartment keys will be sanitized in front of you. If you need help with your luggage, we can take them up to your room in a separate elevator.
DURING YOUR STAY
During your stay, we will only enter your apartment for cleaning if you request it.
The day you ask us to clean your apartment a member of our staff will enter while you are out. Only one member of our cleaning staff will enter your apartment. The staffer will be wearing a protective mask and gloves with their hair will be pulled back. As mentioned above, the staffer’s temperature will have been checked that morning.
Our cleaning staff disinfects the cleaning cart every evening before going home. The cleaning cart never enters the apartment.
To avoid congestion in the lobby, we ask that our guests don’t congregate unless they are checking in, asking a question at our front desk, or waiting for a ride. We also ask that no more than two separate groups (each represented by one group member) wait to ask our front desk a question at a time. If you enter the lobby and there are two groups, we ask that you wait in your apartment and we will message you when we can see you. Otherwise we ask that you use our WhatsApp messaging application for any questions or concerns you may have.
We ask our guests not to step into the elevator if it is occupied. We ask that the elevator is occupied only by your own group.
We allow no more than four people in our garden and no more than six people onto our pool terrace.
AT THE END OF YOUR STAY
The day before your last day with us, we will email you with charges that need to be settled. You can email us authorization to charge any outstanding charges to your card on file or you can pay us cash in our administrative office.
Once you are ready to leave the premises, you can do a self-check-out, and leave the keys in our key drop, located near the front door.
During normal times, we make the comfort and health of our guests and our own team the most important thing we do. These are not normal times; we all recognize that. And we commit to care for you as if you were family.
*** As this is a constantly changing situation, our protocols may change but are current as described above.
